    An aide to the Secretary of Defense kills himself with a self-inflicted gunshot to the head in order to protect SECDEF.

    Edit: After which, SECDEF starts to ramble and pleading with a Naval Officer standing near him to go along with a plan to implicate the aide as a soviet mole.

    This movie had one of the greatest "surprise endings" from Hollywood -- nearly as good as The Usual Suspects.
