I too just beat Kangaxx for the first time and found it to be quite exhilarating (Firkraag was a pushover in comparison)!

After the first try and my protagonist getting imprisoned :( I too used spell immunity abjuration (as well as remove fear, of course). Beat him (and his alter-ego) on the second try. Had some perhaps remarkable luck with Imoen's remove magic spell, Keldorn's innate dispel magic ability, the protagonist with the Sunfire sword, Anomen with Sunfires and the mace of disruption +1? Maybe I'll try a replay to see if it was really luck, but that was awfully traumatic!!

My latest battle with Kangaxx was surprisingly easy, I had Jaheira and Mazzystand by the entrance and do nothing, Imoen was one side and above the tomb and Nalia the other side; my kensai/mage was belowthe tomb. Before we entered I'd cast Prot. from evil 10' and resist fear on everyone, as well using a scroll of protection from magic on Annoyman.

Annoyman opened the tomb and gave the bits back Kangaxx attacks Annoyman who meanwhile wades in with the Crom Faeyr and a potion of speed. My mages do the minimal piercing spells necessary to allow Annoyman's hits to work. (I think it was 1 pierce magic and 2 breaches).

As the demi-lich Annoyman laid into him still, Nalia cast time-stop and broke all his defenses, then all the mages used Melf's minute meteors and the ring of the ram. Dead Kangaxx in no time.

I've found that Kangaxx only concentrates his spells on Annoyman who's protected from everything and doesn't bother with anyone else

Also I don't know what level mage created those scrolls but it must surely someone like Elminster himself since their total duration is at least 6 hours game time (30 minutes real time).
