    I'd say Hollywood Squares - long-runing, limited cast, guests (contestants & guest squares) provide action, and scriptwriters have nothing to do even though there's a lot of talking going on.

    And yes, rally - the longer this goes, the longer the queue of people who 'want a piece of you' is gonna get! ;)

    My big sticking point is the shortened season of 17 episodes. The best I can come up with is 60 Minutes, which has way more than 17 eps. per season.

    Not a Soap, Not a talk show. Not the obvious Childrens ones. That leaves... Stand-up Comedy Sketches?

    OK, last chuck of the dice from me. Saturday Night Live. Probably not, as I'm sure I've seen it on SKY at some point, which means it would have been syndicated.

    Great Choice Rally, whatever it is.

    Thinking about it, I imagine seasons last rather more than 17 episodes as well. Isn't it every Saturday night?

    Rally? That was BEAUTIFUL - the '17 eps' hint was perfect, but it just never clicked with me (I play sports, not watch them :heh: ) I'm a big Dennis Miller fan, so I might have gotten it...with about another day of mulling. :rolleyes:

    I guess Bob Ross (is that the right name? :hmm: ) would be as close to Tony Hart as the Americans seem to get, but with a scary beard... and no Morph. Err... So entirely unlike Tony Hart then. *cough*

    Even though I'm no artist, I know this show because my mum's digital TV always truncates the name to The Joy of Pain... :eek: :lol:
