That's the one serious flaw that BG 2 has, is the limitations in playing any kind of evil or non-goody goody character. The game is too heavily geared towards being Lawful Good to Chaotic Good in nature, with some leeway given in being very Neutral. An obvious example is killing Nalia's aunt and the guard. The only people who know what you did are your party, so why should it effect your reputation when nobody else knows what you did? All you would have to do is blame trolls, and people would take that at face value and your rep would be solid.

On occasion, you can be a smartass with people with no effect on reputation, like with the guards at night when you enter the Government District, but those instances are too few. I think it would have really added depth to the game if there was greater freedom to be evil and nasty, but without the needles fall in reputation when so many evil and nasty acts would only be known to your party, and the outside world would never know.

In an ideal world, any potential BG 3 or BG 3-like game would focus on this part of the gameplay for improvements, but instead you just know the people behind it are going to concentrate on wizz bang graphics rather than the gameplay, which is the real glue of the game.

That's true ey. I think that the gameplay is what makes the game so great, not the graphics, even though I like them. It would be great if a better focus to evil was taken in creation of the game but I guess if they decide to make another one then we can ask em REALLY NICELY to make to add-in some even roleplaying options for both sides!

By the way, if someone makes the game and all they do is concentrate on the graphics i will never ever consider anything from them again, because that's pathetic.
