okay; you've piqued my interest here; does the ammendment limit any single person to a TOTAL of two four-year terms, or two consecutive terms - e.g. could Junior come back to run in 2012? :bad:

And to get back on topic; this whole 'war' is foolish - it's physical hostilities against essentially an attitude. They're bombing people for hating the wealthiest and most powerful nation on Earth, chiefly because this nation helps the haters' enemies and does NOT use its power and influence to help THEM.

It's good that they wish to do something about these threatening people, but their actions are precisely the WRONG ones to take - you don't get people to stop hating you by bombing them and invading their supposedly sovereign country. All they'll succeed in doing is making more terrorists. Little Kasim works and trains and then accomplishes his mission to release a toxin into lake Mead, because his father was killed by an american bomb years before...

2 terms total. Otherwise Bill Clinton would have won last year, hands down.

okay, completely off-topic, but I *have* the biggest compulsion to say this:

Clinton never could've won hands down

Incidentally, the amendment that limits terms actually says the maximum amount of time a president can spend in office is 10 years. However, that's an odd choice, as presidents are elected to four year terms, so normally, there's no way to get to 10 - it's either 4 or 8. However, if you were the vice president, and due to the death/impeachment/resignation of the sitting president, you became president, it is possible that you could serve 2 full terms and part of a third. Basically, if there was less than 2 years left on the first term when you took over, it doesn't "count" towards the two term limit.

Agree completely. And their terminology also completely baffles me. Like during the early stages of the war in Iraq, Bush referred to it as a "crusade". Given the religious extremism in the area, and the history of that region, the last thing you want to call the war is a crusade. And then Bush wonders why millions of Arabs, many of whom really don't care about Iraq, answer the call for a jihad.

Indeed, and crusade it was. Of course, given the destruction, looting, killings, and overall chaos, the Middle East campaigns fit the Islamic notion of "Crusade" better than the Western one.

Alive and well in the American South and some of the border states as well (Southern Ohio). It's a large part of the ideology of the KKK. And don't be fooled, they are still a minor force among arch-conservatives in rural pockets in some areas of the country. Just outside Houston one can find them alive and well and having regular meetings. They also have large number of websites, which you don't have to go underground to visit and communicate with.

I agree, that guy and his minions have politicized 9/11 way more than anyone else. It's a real national disgrace. King George and Prime Minister Rove have no shame.
