I have a board game called Balderdash, a bluffing game. Anyway, there's a category of laughable laws (in the game, they give you the beginning of the law, and you must complete it, and convince the other players that your answer is the truth). Here's a couple :

    - In Tuscumbia, Alabama, it is still illegal for more than eight rabbits to live on the same city block.

    - In Pennsylvania, it used to be illegal for housewives to hide dirt and dust under the rug.

    - In Washington D.C., it is against the law to fish while riding a horse.

    - In Florida, it is unlawful to pass wind, in a public place, after 6 pm on a thursday.

    - In Spartanburg, South Carolina, it is unlawful to eat a watermelon in a cemetary.

    - In Chicago, Illinois, it used to be against the law for a woman who weighed over 200 lbs. to ride a horse while wearing shorts.

    - In Arabia, it used to be ground for divorce if the husband did not keep his wife supplied with coffee.

    - In Coney Island, New-York, it is illegal to sit on a newspaper at the beach.

-In Orlando Florida, you are forbidden to tie an elephant to a parking meter unless the meter has been paid for.

-In Oklahoma, it is still illegal to destroy another man's melons at night.

    - In Peewee, West Virginia, it is against the law to let your horse fall asleep at an airport.

    - In Wyoming, it is illegal to take photographs of a rabbit during the first three months of the year.

-In Hollywood, California, it is still illegal to drive more than 2,000 sheep down Hollywood Boulevard at one time. (So, I guess if you have 1,999 sheeps, it is okay... lol)

And there's many more, but I don't want to clog the discussion.. :D

And can you believe that here, in Canada, it's actually *illegal* to kill someone? geez, hun? :p

    :shake:

That's awesome...but there's just one problem. The "beaches" of the Great Salt Lake are almost always abandoned due to it's strong stench of stagnant water. It seriously reeks like death... Also, if you toss a large person in the lake, they'll just float because of the strong salt content...not to mention that fat floats... :bad: :rolling:

The ones I particularly like are the ones that are specific to particular times of day. You have to wonder what even caused them to even make such a law. For example, with Nakia's site, one of them from Alabama was "It is illegal to sell peanuts after 5 pm on Wednesday." You have to wonder what was happening on Wednesday evenings for such a law to be made.

Other ones are simply archaic. Anything having to do with horses on roads tends to stay on the books, simply because there's no reason to challenge them. Since no one brings horses into the city anymore, there isn't much need to bother changing the law.
