Majikus sprints towards Lyra and barges into the back of an orc, toppling both of them over. Majikus immediately pounces back onto his feet, pulls out a dagger and drives it deep into the orcs heard while using his knees to ram himself into the Orc's stomach. It screams out in pain and anguish and then falls silent. Above the dead orc's companions can see only what seems to be a mist hovering directly over their dead ... They scream and run out towards the cave enterance and chancing the flames. Most of them were to burn, they're screams a peircing to the ears of those that hear them ...

 

Lyra flinches at the sound. Her sensitive ears were meant for the silent deaths, not piercing ones. Lyra closes her eyes for a moment, and gathers her pure essence within her a lashes out the fiery purity from within her. It engulfs the orc shaman, unsuccessfully casting a spell. Lyra realizes this and quickly silences the whole lot of orcs that were still alive. Seeing no spellcaster, they flee out of the cave, only to be burned; their screams of anguish silent as night.

Lyra walks awkardly toward the children and notes that April is already there, helping them up and soothing them with a calm, firm voice. Seeing they are unharmed and stable on their feet, Lyra goes over to Majikus. On her own she was too busy to notice herself, but now she realizes how hot and sweaty she is from the heat she's cast out. The woman is wrapped into a hug and now she notes how much she's trembling against his body.

A tear is smothered in Majikus's robe. "The children could've died from the heat..." she whispers softly.

 

Majikus holds Lyra tighter as she cries tears and speaks of the children possibly dying. Majikus closes his eyes and draws her in closer. He then whispers to her

"I know my love, but it was a risk we had to take... without the aid of your fire magic, most of the orcs could have regrouped outside and trapped us and the children inside. Worry not now, the children are alive and the orcs dispearsed."

Majikus draws back slightly and bends down towards her. He kisses her on the lips and smiles at her.

"Wait but a moment."

Majikus releases one arm from holding her and makes swishy movements with it. Above the fire, a small cloud of dense water vapour forms which drops into the fire and extinguishes most of the fire leaving but small parts still burning some of the burnt and dead orcs. Where the fire once stood, there is now only the charred remains of orcs, some of them still smouldering. He then points at a rock and it glows a bright light, lighting up the cave and replacing the light of the fire. He then puts his arm back around Lyra and squeezes her gently

"Don't worry Lyra, my petal, the children will be returned safe and sound."

Majikus kisses Lyra on the foreheadand then turns hishead towards to April

"April, how are the children? Are they all acounted for? Do you want to head back to the children's homes now? Are you okay?"

I'm... Fine.. April says. It has been a whill since I was able to use as much magic as I did today, it feels.. strange...

Let us return this kids to Amn and then go back to B.G. Quickly I think Rabbik is waiting for us.

Wait, something is missing in this picture! We did come in hetre to stop a bunch of Ogres but I did only see one of them, the rest where orcs and goblins. Was my information not corect or are those Ogres planning a nasty suprise for us? We better be carefull on the way out...

 

Lyra feels grateful to be loved, after so long. She turns her body awkwardly to look at April. "That's a good point. I hope they won't mind too much if we interrupt their plans. Obviously they haven't planned of Plan B if we actually succeed in ruining their surprise attack on us."

Majikus releases Lyra. "Alright, since I can attack from my both sides, I'll go out, and if your theory holds true, then I'll go stand in the middle of the cave entrance, and someone can shoot and arrow into the fray, so when the rush into the cave - I have a feeling they will try to ambush us - I can wound or even kill some, if not half of them when they come rushing in. Is that a-okay for you two? If so, I'd like to be invisible now..."

 

Majikus grimaces and shrugs. A pained look upon his face.

"I'm sorry my love, but i am completely out of invisibility spells ... i mean, i didn't anticipate such a demand for them ... how about if we were to send an illusion instead?"

Majikus waves his arms and utters a sylablle or two just before a mirror image of Lyra is created. Majikus smiles and kisses the real Lyra on the cheek and neck

"At your command my love. This illusion should fool them well enough..."

 

Well I don't like those illusion spells things can go terribly wrong with them... So I say let's go for thje invisible plan, but not on only us, but on the children as well!

The ogres will not see us if we do it that way and we can always return to finish them when the children are safe.

So whitch plan do you guys like better?

 

Majikus looks at April

"I'm flexible either way, but seeing as we have an illusion already ready, we may as well use it. As for invisibility spells, I'm out of them with most of my other spells spent. I gave my spiritual power to Lyra and that will take me a few days to fully recuperate.... but if anyone else has an invisibility spell, We could use them to work with the illusion ... if there isn't enough invisibility spells, you all go on ahead and I'll find some way of getting out ... I'll be fine, don't worry about me if it happens"

Majikus casts a longing look at Lyra with a look of slight anxiety in his eyes

 

I have enough invisivle spells for me and the children. Do you think you and lyra can exterminate the Ogres with your illusion spell? I shall come back once the children are outside to help you, or I can cast a demension door, but that is tricky stuff.

Then she looks at the children, don't worry, she says, everything will be allright...

 

(Sorry about the last few days... I - still - have the fever. Won't be posting until I get better)

 

Majikus frowns as he thinks of the possible opportunities.

"Yes, I think that it maybe best for you to send the children and yourself through the main front under the protection of invisibility. Meanwhile, Cast dimension door and let Lyra let Lyra pass through. If you designate it so that she is able to appear behid cover or something, giving her roughly 200 or so metres from the enterance, Lyra could cover your position, spy out the enemy locations and tell me through magic where they are. I could stay here and use the illusio to try and draw them out. I'll then use what offensive magic i have left on them. Hopefully it will be enough. If thigs start to look bad, Lyra could attack from behind, but I'd suggest April, that you make haste to the town and ensure the childrens safety. What do you guys think of that plan?"

Majikus looks around at everyone (including children) hoping for some answer...

 

Lyra shrugged slightly. "I don't need invisibility spells to disappear, for I am already one with darkness."

Lyra vanished before their eyes. She slunk close to the wall, making less noise than a mouse. Peeking outside, she could see dark figures huddled at the outskirts of the trees, waiting for them to step out. Lyra slunk back to them, and whispered, "Oh they are definitely waiting. Well, April seems to have a firm plan, so I think it's best to stick with it."

Lyra disappeared once more, and walked to the cave entrance. Silently, she recited long-memorized incantations, and walked back, leaving the area raining with hailstones larger than her head.

 

April told the children to keep quit; You'r all invisibel now so the Ogers cant see us, she explaind. We can still see them, but the will not be able to hurt us, as long as we don't say a word.

Then she walkt with the children towards the entrence of the cave, after a while they saw 6 ogres sitting around a small fire near the entrance, April led the children past them and put her finger to her lips, but the children knew that they shouldn't say a word, they knew their lives depended on it.

Slowly the children walked out of the cave there she clapt her hands twice and the spell was gone. We made it, April says, Now nothing can hurt us.

I don't think so a voice said, April turned around and looked in the eyes of a man with darkskin long black hair and a purple cape...

 

Majikus watches Lyra and April dissapear before his very eyes. He smiles to himself and takes a deep breath. He readies his quarter staff and mutters an enchantment. Several seconds later, he is engulfed by a pale blue flame.

Closing his eyes he commands the illusion to walk outside and into view of the ogres. As expected, the Ogres pounce on the illusion and it dissapears. They bellow out a roar and turn towards Majikus.

"Come and get me!" shouts Majikus, his eyes burning an Arcane Blue.

As the Ogres charge and enter the cave, Majikus strikes his staff and a bolt of energy shoots up into the roof of the cave causing many boulders from the ceiling to fall and block of the cave enterance. There is at least several tonnes of stone, earth and dirt seperating those inside from outside.

Outside all that can be heard is the Arcane sizzling of magic, screams and battle.

Everything falls silent. A laugh of evil, greed and death echos out followed by a roar

"I have you now you little Whelp! You shall die!"

 

Who are you? April asked. I'm your boogeyman that's what I am! I have traveled long and far to find you, you have become stronger, I can feel it in the air... Something is about to change here. Don't follow the Bunny! Then he vanished in the shadows...

Leaving a confused April behind him...

 

Lyra catches up with April.

"April!" she calls. After April explains to her what someone had just said, Lyra's colour turns dull and her lower lip tremble.

"I know that man... He was, another one of the people who worked with or for me, depending on what we did. I have to go after him. He can run, but he can never hide from me for long!"

Lyra rushes back to Majikus and gives him one last kiss on the lips, before running after the shadows.

Majikus can feel Lyra's soft, invisible lips near her ear whispering, "Keep April safe for me! Farewell.."

 

In the pitch blackeness of the cave and blocked enterance, Majikus is unable to note if his eyes are open or closed. What he does feel however is a slight sensation upon his lips and a whispering into his ear.

"I ... shall... try..."

He groans and wonders whether he has died or is still alive ... as he tries to sit up he thundering pain bolts through his shoulder and he lets out a shout of agony. He then hears a grunting to what seems to be right next to him. Majikus struggles to move away from the grunt when it suddenly says in common.

"I will find you ..."

 

April looked around she didn't know what to do, must she go after Lyra to help her to hunt done that creepy guy, or should she wait for Majikus to come out of the cave, or go back and help him?

She took a look at the children and told them to ga back to their family's she casts a spell over them so they would all walking like they where wearing boots of speed ad they where back home in no time.

Then she took her sword in hand and entered the cave she had to save Majikus...

 

(Just adding detail)

As April enters the cave, and her elf eyes key out the sides, she almost walks straight into a wall of what seems to be crumbled boulders. Looking up and around the enterence April notes that the entire enterance is blocked with rubble. Judging from how much the cave opening had receded, April guessed that there must be at least several tones of stone blocking her from Majikus and what else lies inside.

"I guess that cuts out the direct route ..."

April presses an ear against the stone and can't hear anything ...

(just did that to help keep story consistent)

 

The man looked over his shoulder and stoped. So lyra you did follow me! That was just what I ecpected. But what you think is wrong. I can see thing going on in your mind, but if I am who you think I am Then who didn't I kill April when I had the chance? You know she is able to kill Sarevok now... But there is one thing she doesn't know...

She is the ONLY onr that can kill Sarevok. There are only 4 people knowing this a force of evil a force of good Me as being Neutral and now...You.

Believe me or not but the greatest problem we have is someone YOU trust and you left him alone with some one who nose to much, she is in danger noww because you left her with him you know who I'm talking about.

You made this mistake before, my darling, You are following the yellow brick road, but it is no good! Not for you not for April and not for your lover in the cave and, the worst part, It's not good for me. You SHOULD follow the bunny do everything that April can't do she must be ready For our future, and the future looks grim indeed...
