You can't find a Find Familiar scroll in BG1 but you can select it on character creation.

I would really advise you to dual Imoen, make her a lv5 thief/lv.x mage and she'll do find. You don't need a thief at the beginning of the game since you'll be mostly traveling through wilderness areas. You won't even see a trap until Nashkel mines (and even that can be done without a thief) by which time you'll have about 40k exp on each character.

If you want to level her up faster you can raise the difficulty level, SCS makes more monsters spawn that way.

Okay. 3 mages it will be, then. Since I won't have an xp cap in Tutu maybe I'll farm monster spawns to get Imoen to thief/mage 7/8. I'd really like it if I can make my BG1 end party match my BG2 start party.

7/8? Hmm, I don't think I'd do that... you need 40,000 exp for a lv.7 thief and then 90,000 for a lv.8 mage, that's pretty much the majority of the game. Unless you plan to take a substitute thief along the way this is a no no. Go with either lv.5 or lv.6 thief... you can always explain those extra levels in BG2 as the result of Irenicus' experiments :p

Dualling Immy at lvl 5 seems reasonable. She gets enough skill points in open locks and disable traps and has x3 backstab modifier. Getting mage levels to 6 is easy. You may need some potions of master thievery and perception for Durlag's Tower, but other than that she will do OK.

I dualled Immy right after I exited Nashkel Mines. She has just hit lvl 5. It was good timing, I guess.

After you dual Immy, stay away from heavily trapped dungeons (I can name a few but do not want to give spoilers) and you will be OK. You can always bash in/knock important locks.

I was a bit worried that 7/8 may be hard to do in BG1 since it wasn't really designed for that much xp gain. With SCS will there be enough random encounters if I decide to be patient enough to make Imoen match her BG2 class combo?

Easytutu itself lets yourself decide the respawning percentage, via a mod found at Macreadys site.

Aha! I dl'ed that mod but didn't plan to install it. I know in most cases you need to plug in all the mods before you start the game. Can I play without the respawning mod until endgame and then install it late to have more random encounters? Or do I need to install it right off the bat and just deal with the extra monsters from the beginning?

As mentioned you can pretty much put it where you want, but I think you have to have it from the start of the game. I wouldn't use it, I recommend going to Durlags Tower instead. I would also think, that immy as a 7/8 char would be reachable, I could mention, that I without cheating/without using the randomizer mod gained almost 230.000 xp in a 6 person party. And I didn't do most of the extras in Baldurs Gate nor the Werewolf Island.

Oh, that is good news. I intend to squeeze the game dry. Werewolf Island? Sounds scary.

He I must admit I never bothered visiting that isle, so I'm clueless. OTOH someone around is bound to have been there :)

Doesn't SCS itself respawn all monsters on a map after 24h? I think I remember reading that somewhere...

Werewolf island is a pretty good quest by the way, I've enjoyed playing that. Let's just say that it's about a great hero of the Realms and discovering his ultimate fate (I won't give you any names though, don't want to spoil anything ;) ). But do visit it, it's worth it...

Well I could have missed that. BTW DavidW - designer of SCS - is back again at G3, so you might just ask him...

The werewolf island is a decent adventure, well worth the time. I do that sidequest in almost all my runs through BG1. :)

Very good quest indeed. I am replaying BG1 as well now. And i got a question of sorts. Minsc and Dynaheir are both from Rashamen right? So why is Dynaheir black and Minsc white? Did I miss something in the storyline? Or is it a boo boo of sorts?

They are both Rasheman, I guess Dynaheir haven't seen that much daylight, but perhaps Felinoid can provide a better answer?

Edit: Sorry it was a bit offtopic.
