Greenlion...that's because thongs are for women, not hippos...athough that term is not always mutually exclusive.

If you say I needed to calm down judging by the post's length, you probably didn't read it. Such lengths are unavoidable when there's a need to be clear. There's a need to be particularly clear when your words are being twisted and you're being told to have said what you hadn't said, let alone the whole personal attack thing. Quite serious mud thrown at you in a completely light-hearted and joyfully irrelevant chatter. I'm glad we've been able to come back to the subject.

On a lighter note, one can't argue with dmc Yea, if you give me the choice, I'll choose ankle-long dresses over thongs. Especially if it's thongs sticking out from some shorts . For aesthetic reasons, where the aim is aesthetic pleasure. And if the aim is seeing some skin, I don't know what point there is looking at thong pictures when you can get nude pictures. Oh well, but people have various ways of getting excited. Does the stripe that doesn't really cover anything have a special meaning for you, or am I missing the point? I mean, there people are attracted by various different things, but would this one be so common as it appears from the number of posters in favour in this topic?

That's being clear, why didn't you say that to begin with? Your long post is defensive behavior and trying to prove yourself against something that both of you and the "insulter" know is fake.

You're missing the point. The thong is hiding something, and it's the undiscovered that's the intrigue. The goal is to tease the mind, not to show off skin.

Flirting is fun, and wearing a thong is certainly a step in the flirting direction. If not verbally, then non-verbally.

This might not apply to you, and if doesn't you'd see the thong thing pointless which I think you do

I would think so about underwear vs naked, but for me thong belongs to naked rather than underwear. It doesn't really cover anything and it's an "it's still someunderwear" kind of excuse for bare bottom. Just as if you were shown an ass, you only don't see the inside of it.

Well, who like who but I needn't be told that flirting is fun, hehe. But I wouldn't call thong a step in the flirting direction. It's not a step, it's a jump. And a jump over.

I like thongs, but not the transparent ones with pink ribbons, just normal ones...
Pantylines are bad, indeed.
I don't feel especially sexy when I wear them and I have never felt that they ride up either.
And I must agree, it looks horrible when people have their thongs at their armpits.
My friend took a picture of a girl in my class when she was leaning forward (she had her thongs up at armpits) and then he sent it to everyone he knew...

Sorry for taking so long to get back - in the real world with the Thanksgiving holiday and all. I'm sorry if you considered anything I wrote a personal attack. I thought I made it clear that the whole gender thing was in jest. Yeah, I got a little ticked off by some of the stuff you wrote, and I probably should have refrained from responding, but emotions got the best of me. No hard feelings here so long as there are none with you.

I think the whole concealing thing with a thong isn't what it conceals in the back (very little) but what it conceals in the front...

Actually, I would just like to take a pro thong stance. Now picture this. Girl of good figure, thong, wearing khaki pants that are loose enough to show from the top/high middle up. Now that is sexy.

Well, this is what you get when chev has an opinion about your thread.

 

I think that if more people posted like chevalier then the discussions here would progress a lot further, by this I mean, using logical and conclusive statements and detailing the point of the argument clearly without resorting to personal insults and inflammatory remarks. At no point did chevalier get carried away I think, and he should be commended for having the patience to defend what he had said so thouroughly and by sticking almost solely to the argument itself, and never drawing forth a statement he could not either back up with a logical conclusion, and empirical statement of observation, a factual reference, or an answer specifically tailored to allow only opinion as pertained to the original question, ie, what is your opinion on this matter.

This said, allthough I agree that thongs (as you all seem to call them) can be attractive, it does seem more to rest on the person wearing them than the item itself, and many things I believe suit this purpose better (as has been said by others), and it can indeed seem unbecoming for said items of clothing to be worn exposed in public depending on the person involved, and this also suggests things about the character of the person, that is, you are observing an action, which is an extension of a thought- thus you are observing the very character of said person. The reasons could be varied, but I think anyone doing such a thing because they are either sexually indescriminate, or is not, but is pretending to be based on a search for material gain, to satisfy vanity and gain attention, to attract someone specifically or generally for their own sense of satisfaction and not a mutual one, or plain sheer immaturity is morally inept. You may disagree, but that is a philosophical debate, and not worthy of such a place of reference. Notice I did not say anything about anyone doing so for any other reason, and hold not such view towards any such person, and that this behaviour can be applied to anything, not necessarily limited to these specific undergarments alone.

(Ok, I was bored, sorry if I am guilty of bringing back a concluded or irrelevant topic, but as I said, I was bored).
