    No, you can not. There is a set experience cap, so if you dual-class after you have reached over half the possible levels of your existing class, you are mostly screwed.

    Somehow I always create a thief character. After playing a game few times I might consider multi-class thief/mage or thief/fighter. Monks are also quite good, but nothing can't beat a thief.

    Ooh! When are we going to see ninja class, a crossbreed between a thief and a monk. Sneaking behind an enemy and plunging his bare fist through opponent's chest and grab his heart. :p

    I've gotta say Fighter for BG 1, although I have tried a few times with a Fighter/Mage (shame theres such a small exp. cap) it never seems to work as well as it does in BG 2 :)

    Thief was my choice because they're so useful, though dithered a bit between pure thief and multiclass thief. Decided on pure theif because they get more skill points quicker so they're more useful and very flexable in a combat role than most other classes.
