    That's OK, DR...don't sweat it...I forwarded the imformation implicating you and your evil pawn, LNT, to the CIA...and they lost it.

    I seems odd to me that 3 times as many people who voted for Bush think he will win. What'sup with that?

    At least in my case, I fear that the neocon cabal is far to enamoured of their current power to give it up easily, and will resort to any number of tricks to keep it. I'm expecting one of the sleaziest campaigns ever from them, with no end to the dirty tricks (remember how McCain was sabotaged in 2000?) and convenient "successes" in Iraq/Afghanistan. :(

    Sad, but true.

    Not to mention the Diebold "paper trails are for sissies" voting machines. When the president of a company that makes buggy electronic voting machines, the very machines that are being installed in counties across the nation as we speak and aren't designed to provide a paper trail of votes counted, is quoted on record as saying "I will do everything in my power to see that George W. Bush wins the next election," it tends not to inspire much confidence.

    edit - I just noticed something about the criteria for this little survey.
    If your "nationality" is anything other than American, doesn't that kinda nullify the first 2 assumptions? :confused:

    Yeah, yeah, I'll edit it.

    By the way, am I the only surprised with the amount of people who want Bush? I mean, wow.

    Again - we have to credit the international crowd for that one. We Americans aren't exactly well liked in the world right now. The message is pretty much the same all over: we love America and American culture, we hate your leader. Can you name a single country in the world right now that Bush could visit without thousands showing up to protest? Kuwait is about the only one I can think of, but even that's a stretch.

    If this were an Americans only poll, I think it would be a little more even handed. There aren't any non-American SP members who have a favorable opinion of Bush. At least none that I'm aware of, anyway.

    This from today's Boston Globe.

    A new poll indicated that the Democratic presidential ticket was losing ground instead of gaining the usual bounce coming out of the party's convention, with Kerry trailing President Bush, 50 percent to 46 percent, among likely voters surveyed. Another CNN/ USA Today/ Gallup survey a week ago had the race essentially tied, with Kerry ahead of Bush, 47 percent to 46 percent. Both polls were within the sampling's margin of error. A Newsweek poll released Saturday indicated that Kerry was leading Bush, 49 percent to 42 percent.

    I think this shows that Americans are sick of politics and have a less-than-stellar opinion of all of the clowns trying to make it to the White House. I know that I have already resigned myself to a lesser of the evils vote and basically ignored the Democratic convention because I already figured I was going to vote for Kerry. The whole thing makes me ill when I think about it. I don't think any of the four rick white guys running for the top two offices could run my county's school district, let alone this country, in a decent fashion.

    Heh these poll results are interesting, gotta admit we have a few liberals... while I want kerry to win, I figure bush is going to win because Nader is there to take votes away from the democrats, because if nader wasn't there the people who vote for nader would be voting for kerry.

    @LNT

    Um, you think the baby boomers aren't a liberal group? That same group that were in their teens and 20's during the Vietnam War and were liberally protesting all over the place? That same group that finally allowed women into the work place and broke the age-old tradition of the women raising children at home while the man went to work? On a similar note, the same generation that had access to birth control for the entire lives? Yeah, you're right - they're not liberal at all.

    By the way, the baby boom era was from 1946 to 1964. That means the baby boomers of today are between the ages of 40-58. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon. With the life expectancy at about 20 years older than the oldest baby boomers, I'd say you have at least a 20 year wait before they start to "pass the reigns". I also finid it amusing that you refer to them as "elderly". None of them are even senior citizens yet!
