I own one, but I hardly ever use it. I got it a few years ago when I had an older car and was afraid of it breaking down on the highway, but now that I have a new car, the cell phone seems like a waste of money. My wife also has a cell phone, also hardly ever uses it, but for some reason decided she needed to spend over $100 Cdn on a new one.
With spending habits like these, it's no wonder we can't seem to save any money :hahaerr:

Yup, I work for Sprint so I get a good discount. My wife hates them though ... drives through Gary, IN everyday with a 2 year old, but won't let me buy here a phone (her usage would be free too!)

Seeing as cellphones are much cheaper than paying a long-distance phone bill, I definitely love my cell phone.

    But not too much...

No way. Never. If it was a condition of a job I'd probably refuse the job. There are too many people who pick up the telephone every time a random thought crosses the transom of their mind and sooner or later I'd tell one of them where she can stick her phone. It's bad enough with my land line when they know I'm home and shriek "Pick up the phone! Pick up the phone!" out of my answering machine. I prefer people to save up everything they have to say for at least a week and put it into one email. My husband is allowed to email me three times a day, but he's an exception, and only now that we're married. ;)

In Malaysia, it is very weird that a college don't have a mobil phone.

i don't own one because i don't want people to track my whereabout freely. i need solidarity, a lot of them. My mother signed one for me. i don't bring it when i go to class, go to eat, go for a movie which are the only time that i go out.

Well, I like the fact that I can make a phonecall when needed, without having to find a payphone, or beg someone to use his. Of course, people can pester you all day long, but that's what you have the 'end call' button for, which automatically switches them to your voicemail

I got a new SIM card today, to replace the one I lost. Now just to get a new GSM :) (Which is what we call the back here.)

Gave up this year and got me one (the first one). Supporting the local economy of course :D
Life was getting too tough without a house line.
Still feel a little bit ashamed though :shame:

Daephon, a friend of mine has one.

I've mostly used a Nokia 3330, which is a pretty fine piece of equipment. Not too big, not too small, and easy to handle.

I've had Nokia 3410 for a year, and it's my first cell phone. It's good, and even better now, when I've learned to use it.

My father sent it to me with no credit anyway, his own stupid fault

I've been a Verizon wireless customer for five years now, and I had a pager for another five years, before that :)

I've got a Sony Ericsson P800. I'm not a huge fan of mobile phones (I refused to own one before mine was bought for me), but I need one for my software development (I'm coding for my phone at the moment).

It's pretty cool: GSM, GPRS, Bluetooth, IR, voice activation, digital camera, large-ish colour screen, 16mb internal memory, takes memory-stick duos (comes with a 16mb stick). You can surf the net on it, and it plays MP3s and all that rubbish. The handwriting recognition is pretty good, too. It's a bit of a brick as far as mobile phones go, though.
