It all depends on how you look at things:

For my background and education, I have a pretty close to dream job right now.

If money, skills and bills and all that stuff held no importance in my life, I have several "dream jobs" in mind:

    Field Photographer for National Geographic
    Pornstar
Major League Baseball or Hockey player
    Host of "The Daily Show"
    Eccentric Gazillionaire
    Astronaut
    Pirate
    1 star general
    Supreme Court Justice
    President of the United States
    Professional Wrestler
    Movie Director
    Professional Surfer
    Painter
    Helicopter Pilot
    Rock Star
Jennifer Connelly's or Angelina Jolie's personal bodyguard
    Wrecking Ball operator
    Zoo Director
    Curator of the National Archives

That's all I can think of at the moment

Pfft...my dream job takes at least a BS degree and several hundred hours of pre-flight and in-flight training. And the fact that the US Air Force doesn't want me, makes paying for college even harder.

I bet you can't guess what I want to be... :rolling:

    @Kitrax: No idea.
@Sir Belisarius: I like your second idea. A lot.

ROFLMAO!!! The money is crap, the workload is extreme, and the privileges really aren't all that impressive (except for head of the executive branch).

If I have to work, I want to be a practice dummy at a massage school. But personally, I'd rather be rich and idle.

In that case, that would be my dream job too; nothing like just being a full-time sick-rich coach-potato. Or just using that money well and doing things you want. (In my case: travelling on the road. Full-time job, that.)

Actually, an exotic hotel/resort reviewer/critic wouldn't be too bad...sure, you would have to type up a couple pages and call it a report, but big deal, traveling the world and staying at super-nice places - and being spoiled by the employees (since they know you are rating them) would be awsome! :rolling:

My dream job would be to be a professional adventurer, the ones who compete individually or as a team to traverse rivers, mountains, etc. Of course the races are sponsored. You get paid and get a lot of freebies, like shoes, athletic wear, even sunglasses.

My more laid back dream job is to be a professional gamer/ game tester. Wouldn't it be great to get paid to play computer games? :)

I may actually be able to make my own RPG with some help from some other friends I've made online...

Directing movies. Various kinds. From epic fantasy to silly B-action movies. So much inspiration, so little of being able to put it in practice.

Actually a friend of mine was exactly that. His job was to define the age recommendations of various games. That is to play through them and write a report about each one. From what I've heard it was not as fun as one might imagine. He allways used codes because of the tight timetables and could really not enjoy the gaming much. Additionally going through horrible and buggy games can be more horrible than normal work. Especially when you can't just give up.

Personally I don't have a dream job currently but my decent part-time job most certainly ain't my dream job. ;)

Morgoroth, I've heard that Game reviewers don't have it much easier either. If the game is unplayable or sucks, you still have to play it...

How can doing nothing be considered a job? Maybe I missed something?

My dream job would be creating computer games. I once got my hand in the cookie jar and now I crave for more. It's awsome making games. :)

    Here. ;)

My current "job" isn't bad -- if only I had more hours. Teaching people Latin and English. The language school paid quite a lot, a damn lot for a uni student, to be honest, but I suppose that contact is dead now. Still, I'm doing well with private classes. Then again, I might actually prefer translations if I were able to do those from home, sending the results by the internet. I also make pretty nice webpages but I've never been able to sell any.

More realistically, my university study field is law. I used to be a low level classical scholar for some time and I'm thinking about getting classics as my second uni faculty. Not like I'm done with my dreams about being a great archaelogists. ;) Next, I have some programming skills and some good knowledge of human nature and I'm a history geek, as well. Would be nice to be able to combine all those in one job. Did I mention graphomaniac? ;) Yeah, might write a novel or two one day. :shake:

But then he would have to give up seeking that "perfect" woman.

I never had the perfect job. Had some interesting ones and some boring ones tho.

"Perfect" and "job" are mutually exclusive. They shouldn't be used in the same sentence. :p
