Ah yes. Velkopopovicky is the Chezch dark lager I just love. Better than Guinness in my opinion even though I love Guinness too.

Beer for me. I used to drink tequila and vodka but I went back to beer. I do enjoy some red and sparkling wine on occasion.

As for those who said this or that beer is the best, are you just talking about strength? One beer over here could well put you over the legal limit in your countries.

 

Nah, with beer it's not about strength (if you wanted something strong, you'd drink a spirit). Factors that make a beer good are mostly around taste, texture, colour, after-effects, and most importantly, marketing and image.

 

IMO, our beer has all that. I'd gladly bring some if I ever get to New Zealand.

I can do about 20 smirnoff ice bottles in one night, they just dont seem to have anything in them, the only good thing about drinking that is the bottle makes a nice wepon, 1d3+1 crushing, with a special 1d6+2 slashing if you happen to smash the damn thing!!!

 

Drinks normally match the situation

On a Saturday Night its normally pints of Carling/Stella (also affectionately known as Wife Beater) Followed by Doubles of either Jack Daniels or Vodka with Coke.

Tired - Vodka and Red Bull.

Health Trip(doesn't really happen) - Vodka and Orange or Red Wine

Hungover - Worthys or smooth bitter helps to sooth the stomach after a Saturday night.

Out with missus - Red Wine

 

Perhaps easier to say what I don't like, mostly the strong spirits.

Palinka (Hungarian Fruit Brandy)
Tar Schnapps (Finnish)
Grappa (Italian)
Aqua-vit (The "Water of Life" from Figs)
Cider (9 litres in three nights at a very wet reading festival put me off for life)

 

...oh yeh, absinthe, green or black doesnt matter, they both put me in a coma quite nicely...

 

The problem is that you have to get Czech absinthe to get the full ingredients - wormwood, unfortunately this is illegal in the UK.

Its still lethal though!

 

I like the taste of the Ice things, they sdon't affect me at all...

as it is, Absinthe is indeed verrry good

For party and summer weather I like light lagers, most serve the purpose but I have a weak spot for Tuborg and Carlsberg.

When in the pub and only getting a few beers then different kind of dark ones are nice Newcastle being a favourite but liking the most.

Beer should have around 5% alcoholic content, more makes it taste pure booze and much less makes it a bit watery.

 

Theres this girl at work who is a really good mate of mine who's all sweetness and light, she's been described as an angel many times before, then the first night I went back to her place her adn her mates pulled out some weed and a bottle of absinthe, I had never been so shocked in all my life, what a girl!

 

Fake Absinthe tastes absolutely horrible and the real stuff is drugs and I'm against drugs in every poissble way so I steer clear out of that stuff too. The real stuff is just for hippies anyway.

 

Oh, I also enjoy a good whiskey but that is for sipping on evenings you dont intend to get drunk. The smokier the better.

 

We usually drink beer (Shiner Boch, Rolling Rock); sometimes red wine (usually merlot). But Bailey's is great, espiecally in coffee, or just on the rocks. Rum (Meyers) with a little Diet Coke is good also.
