You know, some people are vegetarians just because it's healthy, so it's not exactly hypocritical for some to enjoy something that had a mother every now and then.

I think you're insulting the intelligence of all vegetarians with this statement. How would you feel if someone would state that people in Poland are mostly Catholics in order to be cool and trendy and don't really care about God or Christian beliefs?

Anyway I agree with one thing though that many teenagers have a "vegetarian phase" in their life at some point but those who are not in it with their heart drop it after a couple of weeks or months. I have also noticed that many vegetarians are vegetarians because it's healthy and not because eating meat brings poverty and hurts animals.

Vegetarians who come to me and tell me what I should eat are on the other hand idiots who fit into the same basket with all the religious fanatics who have some sort of obsession of saving the souls of all the people on the streets.

Personally I don't care much what people eat unless they eat too unhealthy and I'm forced to pay for their medical bill (damn socialized health care). I eat meat because it tastes good and I like it, it's part of my lifestyle and I'm not parting from it willingly.

I eat beef. Occasionally I have a whimpy vegetarian dish like chicken. Pork is semi-meat but okay. Meat -- it comes from things with four legs (I've had venison, bear and horse -- don't really like them).

The human race became dominant by eating all the big meat packages. If it been good enough for the last few thousand years, it's good enough for me.

Edit: I guess I should answer the question. Fish is not meat. You're either a herbavore, carnivore or omnivore. If you don't eat beef the only option is herbavore. So, no, they're not hypocrites by eating fish. And who really cares? As long as they are happy with their diet they can call themselves anything they want.

@T2Bruno, I read your post as being sarcastic but I could be completely wrong, even so "Fish is not meat. You're either a herbavore, carnivore or omnivore" so are you claiming Fish is a plant or just not meat?

Even being a vegetarian myself, I do think that it is hypocritical for a veggie to not eat bacon or steak while eating fish. I agree totally with Rutkowski. That post, for me, sums up this arguement about Vegans, Veggies and meat-eaters.

i eat all meats except for beef and steaks mainly red meats but at least I accept that i avoid them because i dont like the taste.

People who say they are against eating meat because of animal suffering or that they cant imagine eating anything with a parent and then go on to eat fish and eggs are hypocrites.IMO... feel free to hurl all types of insults at me, you are just inflicting pain upon another living being.

Make your minds up, live by the principles you preach or keep your mouths shut and dont let on that you have quirky standards of what (ex)living creatures is ok to eat and what isnt.

Did this come off as angry? It wasnt meant to be, but what the hell.
