I almost never get headaches unless I've got the 'flu or have a hangover, or something, in which case the headache is cured when the other condition is cured.

Depends on the nature of the headache. Aspirin, Tylenol, or Ibuprofen washed down with a cup of coffee are all good choices (well, right now it's only tylenol for me because the others are no-nos during pregnancy). Skipping the coffee and taking the meds with a nap is even better but not always an option.

If there's a sinus component to the headache, you gotta get a decongestant in there too but Advil Cold and Sinus makes me horribly jumpy. Velcro is the decongestant expert in our family. :) The other thing I resport to for sinus headaches is a great acupressure point on the hand - but of course, that's contraindicated during pregnancy as well...

I almost never kill my headaches, if I ever happen to have one. In stead, I just wait and wait and wait 'till it dies. If I really need to get rid of it, I take an 'Ibu'.

Just caffeine in the form of, you guessed it, COFFEE!

If it's really bad then I'll pop a couple of Tylenol and lay down on the couch a while.

800 mg of Ibuprofin relieves just about any pain I have, especially headaches. I don't get them often, but severe hangovers tend to provide me with them on occasion.

Ah, we may be weak, but our minds will be clear of pain, and therefore, work better.

Did you know that there is no difference in the active ingredients of regular Excedrin and Excedrin Migrane? It's all a marketing gusie...same drug, different box. It's the same thing with Midol...women think it's specificly for cramps, when all it really is, is the same thing as Advil...just more expensive. :rolling:

I try to let my body deal with it as much as possible, trying not to take medicines until I can't stand it any longer. I hardly ever take any.

Joacqin has a point. Look at all the precautionary measures. Watch these people taking medicines because they just bumped their head and might get a headache. Rubber tiles at playing-fields and much more.

My doctor advised strongly against acetamenophin--he thinks it should be banned because of potentially dangerous side effects. Aleve upsets my stomach. That leaves aspirin and ibuprofin.

For eyestrain headaches, acetaminophen works well enough. If it's sinus, nothing kills the headache until I get the sinuses cleared.
If it's a migraine, it's Maxalt followed by an Esgic (sp?)
