Started night shifts (and that goes for a week meaning i will work at new years Eve) at 25 so it was i can say flat 2.
It the first time in my life that i have not understood the holiday mood anyone feels.
I feel like i don't belong in this world these days

Fantastic. Spent with my cousin in NYC. Got so many gifts I'm glad I decided to drive up. Good food, good company. Made up for the rest of a poor year. Definitely a 5!

you lucky bastard! :p another proof of the theory i gave in the xmas greeting thread

I'd say a 5. Kick-ass partying all through the break, a new wallet, 2 board shorts, an ipod, a cool booklight and a little leftover cash. Also, got to hang out with my cousins who live abroad, so that was cool.

It was nice. We officially celebrated Hanukkah for the first time this year - in the past we'd celebrated Christmas not as a religious holiday in any sense but as the Great Winter Solstice Shopping Holiday, and we didn't even do that this year despite pleas from Arlyn about when Santa was going to come and could we put up a tree and lights (we got out of that part easily enough by being in Florida ;) :thumb: ).

So Christmas morning comes - which happened to also be the first night of Hanukkah - and Arlyn never said anything. No mention of Christmas or Santa or nuthin'. We told him that we weren't going to open any presents until after we lit the menorah, and that was good enough for him.

Lack of 5-y-o nagging is the ultimate present for any holiday.

My sons still have one more day of presents coming. The 6th of January when Los Reyes Magos come. My 7 year old discovered the Adult Conspiracy of Santa this year so he no longer believes in Santa or Los Reyes Magos but he still gets the presents. The baby doesn't have a clue about presents but he's happy enough when he gets a new toy, although I think he'd rather get his hands on the TV remote.

Your baby does that too?!?!?!?! Marcus is completely into remotes, especially the fancy-schmancy programmable all-in-one that his Daddy is always fiddling with.

Are you Spanish or have Spanish ancestry, Dragonfly? :thumb:

For those who are a bit lost, in Spain is common to receive your Christmas presents on the morning of the 6th of January, as a remmembrance of the gifts the Three Wise Men (los Reyes Magos) offered to baby Jesus.

I celebrated Christmas at home with my parents on the 25th. We had a nice and quiet family dinner. Some prezzies were exhanged then, but that was because my sister and I live and work abroad, and wouldn't be there for the Reyes.

I'll probably send a card to my parents and siblings anyway.

Not too bad. I made a bowl of punch which turned out to be very good, and as odd as that sounds, we ordered Domino's. My aunt and her man got engaged, only to separate a week after  :shake:

I said 4. Not everyone I'd have liked to see could be home, and My Grandmother took ill. Also I've been without my computer since Dec 26 (fried motherboard, new one won't be in for 7 to 10 business days). Over all, I'm happy with what I got, and was able to get the shopping done with little hassle...
