    BEL: I can't belive you!!! what did you do with the V-wings?! they were the ships from rouge squadron 1 on the N64, those things could outrun interceptors by a factor of 3 (although only for a short while) and rapid fire for long enough to take down a couple of Y-wings and have energy to spare within a few seconds.

    Are V-wings official or just made up for the game?

    @Big B: That would be the Federation in Star Trek that only uses capital ships :square:

    V-Wings are no more or less "official" than TIE advances, E-Wings, and Z-95's.

    Oh, I see about the "Federation" now. I can't say I know a whole lot about Star Trek :p .

    Oh, why federation doesnt use fighters?

    Probably because a small craft cant generate enough power to penetrate any decent shielding any big ship has. There could be specialized crafts designed for that, but the loss of one would be just too great. It couldnt protect itself against the attacks of bigger ships either, again because of lack of energy.

    All above is IMO, and may not be right. But i think it is :)

    I guess I am not much of a fan...I've never even heard of V or E-Wing fighters...I just looked them up on Google, and now I know why...They look cheesy!!!

    I remember Z-95's from TIE Fighter, and I remember reading somewhere that Vader's Fighter (presumably the TIE Advanced) was the prototype for the TIE Advanced Fighter.

    I can't see how anyone can resist this fighter. It's awesome, and yet, only a few people have given it their vote. That's NOT good....

    I think both the Star Trek Federation and the Star Wars galaxy are lucky that they never ran into....


    The Battlestar Galactica.


    That ship would have wasted any federation starship or imperial destroyer and the viper without a doubt was the coolest fighter ever. Nothing could stand up to that backwards move :)

    Does anyone know about the Descent:freespace ships? I use to have it on the computer but it's mysteriously dissappeared (X-files backround music) and has been a long time since I played thus so I remember little about the ships but there was this one ship that I'm not going to strain my memory trying to dredge up, but it was a really great ship, there was also the Valkeri interceptor and the Shivan interceptor, those ships rocked.
