    A bit of history:

At one time, at age 43, I was the oldest SP member (or at least, the oldest who was willing to admit their age). But since Nakia became a regular poster, I'm just a young 46 year old punk. But I still feel like a geezer. :geezer:

:) Now, son, you wouldn't feel like a :geezer: if you came and played with the kiddies. Visit us in FAI once-in-a-while. Um, er, ah, come to think of it that might make you feel like a really old :geezer: . But it's still fun.

Well i can qoute all those cliches. The rockets, the black and whit tv, betamax, filmprojectors with spools I remember them all. But still when I look in the mirror to see my balding head I do not despair. I am about halfway I guess, or hope, with 34.

Merlanni, 34 is a very good age, balding or not. The neuroscientists tell us your brain is finally all grown now, so you have all your wits about you, and it's probably too early for your body to be giving you much trouble, so, though you may be in the upper range for SP, you're actually not even middle-aged IMHO.

Of course, I have read, somewhere, maybe in one of Lois McMaster Bujold's novels, that middle age begins at ten years older than your present age...

Old age starts when there is no young ones around to tell the dumb/smart/embarrassing things their grandparents/parents did!

Creeping ahead in a steady pace from day to day, now I'm 54 and making steady progress toward extreme geezerhood. I am eligible for senior parking rates at the hospital, and I could join AARP if I had the least desire to.

When I was only 54, I still had a respectable number of my own teeth left, and almost all of my hair, other than some thinning at the temples. That was thirteen years ago. I still can't stand the idiot policies followed by AARP leadership, so there is no way I would be associated with those pinko liberal excretory orifices!

Note to Splunge: I was registered here when you claimed to be "Senior" at age 43, and I was twenty years older than you were. I've got a month or so on Nakia, as well, if it actually counts for anything.

Ditto on AARP. Of course most of our SP colleagues haven't the faintest idea of these things.

Can you remember being in the range of five through about eight or nine, when it seemed so important that you weren't "only seven", you were actually seven and a half? Because a week back then lasted as long as a month does now, from a subjective point of view.

Birthdays seemed literally AGES apart when I was seven. And I remember a lot from that year. Just don't ask me too much about what I was doing during 2005, please!
