POLL: To Burn or Not to Burn: How do you like your toast?

Lightly toasted. I can't be doing with burnt bits.

 

Dark brown with a poached egg on top.

 

Slightly brown, buttered right after they pop out of the machine. Should, perhaps, taste it with marmelade someday... Too bad I don't own one of those machines and eat toast too rarely to justify buying one.

 

If we're talking about toppings, then cheese is the no.1, especially with a little chopped onion or some other flavouring. Yum.

 

Pale toasts with blackberry jam.

 

I only eat scrapable toast if we are nearing the end of the loaf and I forgot to adjust the setting. Then I make good toast for the rest of the family.

 

I fry bread on a pan to toast it. Toasted untill it is a bit stiff is the best. I generally add butter while it still is warm so it seeps in and does not burn. Then add jam and enjoy

The next best way to have bread is to dip it in whisked eggs and shallow fry it

 

Brown and real butter only, no margerine on my toast. Gotta butter to all the edges too. Although I really prefer English muffins. Knot's Raspberry jam if anything sweet on it.

 

Pretty tanned, but definitely not burnt.

I rarely eat toast anyway.
