    All things in balance.

Smart women impress me. Super-smart women intimidate me a little (although it's awe, not fear). Heaps of the students in my department find one of the tutors intimidating or awe-inspiring; she's 6'2", self-assured and beautiful without being an egotist. She's also one of the few people I am intellectually intimidated by, not because she's taller than me, but because I know she'd annihilate me in any intellectual discussion.

For some reason, question 5 was the hardest for me - a confident, intelligent and good-looking woman will make guys melt left and right. A bossy one will just piss a lot of them off, even if they still want to shag her.

Amen, HB. That's what everyone should be looking for, in the end.

Being able to choose multiple answers on this one would have been handy...

@ Fara - just HOW long has it taken top get knee-length hair for someone as tall as you are?

Looks - both for me, I prefere someone lady-like and elegant as opposed to slutty or drab. I don't like 'enhanced' females. I always thought Pamela Anderson, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton looked fake and masculine.

    Height - not so important,

Hair length - Usually long hair, but its not important. I would prefere females to NOT have short spiky hair though.

Shy or Wild - Again I prefere someone lady like. I don't like 'loud' people in general. I like confidence so not too shy, I would feel like I am taking advantage of someone, if they are too shy.

Authoritarian or nonauthoritarian - both, when its appropriate, if you know what I mean!

Says you, but I look like Colin Farrel and I've been told that thats a good thing.

And I've never had a problem with getting the girl of my affections.

    lol :shake:

    1) Pretty

    2) Pretty short (bec. I am  )

    3) Pretty long hair

    4) Hmm, I'd have to go with the rap song on this one, the one that goes "I want a lady in the street but a freak in the bed" :)

    5) I woulda voted for "Balance" but as there was only "ballance" and "ruller" (neither of which I can identify :p ) I voted that this question sucked.

@Ara - It's taken me my entire life; I've never had a single haircut, and I'm proud of it. It's also dyed dark green, which annoyed my parents at first, but now my mother's perfectly fine with it.

    @ Fara Senefsdottir
[not intended as a joke or an insult]

Are you a man or a freakishly tall female lesbian? Long hair cobined with the fact that "Fara Senefsdottir" is a female, icelandic name makes me wonder...

@Bahir -- You can stop wondering: I'm a "freakishly" tall female lesbian. And despite my last name, I consider myself to be more Norwegian, since I was raised just outside of Oslo. The only time I've ever spent in Iceland was when I was born, and for about three months afterward. But that's a topic for another thread.

My idea of the perfect woman is Brooke Burke. So as you can see, I have set my standards impssibly high.

[IMG] There are so many things that are sooo more important than mere looks... Ultimately, you're not looking for perfect looks, just someone who has what my mates call "thing": that indefinable quality that draws you to them (not necessarily physical, but that can be part of it).

Or, as I (in)famously slurred to a mate in drunken conversation at a house party: "Ish all about the emoshional connecshun" :o :shake:

Good looks. Personalities change overnight, at least looks are somewhat consistent. If they don't look good you might as well be friends. :)

I seriously haven't come to this forum in a LONG time. It feels weird posting here again.

Smart/Good Looking - I find it absolutely essential to have both. They don't need to look like a model, but I'd like someone who's easy on the eyes. She needs to be smart too, otherwise she's a shell with no substance to her.

Height - I'd prefer someone who's around my height if not a tad bit shorter. I'm intimidated by tall girls. They just seem... out of reach.

Hair Length - I don't like hair that's too short. It just doesn't look good. I feel that hair that's too short makes a girl look too masculine. Neck length hair is as short as I'd be willing to see it go. I don't want hair to be too long either, more around lower-back length, and not further. I love long hair though.

Wild/Shy - I wouldn't be able to keep up with a wild girl. A shy girl would bore me. A mix of the two is just right.

Authoritarian/Non-authoritarian - Perhaps I misunderstood what this was saying, but I interpret "authoritarian" as "agressive." Personally, I LOVE agressive girls - the kind that would catch you by surprise, pin you down, and kiss you. Again, I probably misunderstood what the topic creator was getting at with this one. I just interpreted it my own way.

Magpie is right, there has to be an emotional connection. Also there has to be an agreement on morals if a relationship can work in the long run...

the feeling is everything; it doesn't matter what/who anybody thinks they are, what they look like, - or whatever, (a lot of this only matters to the mind or eye of the beholder) when that warmth is there and feeling of love in the heart, then that is all that matters. I wouldn't know what to say if one person felt this for the other when that other didn't reciprocate in kind, I guess they would have to accept it was a mere friendship and move on to find that feeling again for another where it could be reflected and both could grow together in that love. It's not to be if it's only one-sided IMO.
Obviously there are pitfalls; people think they have this feeling for someone and then it seems to vanish, or they find it was just lust or desire based or they were swept away by infatuation caused by flattery or excitement; it's a minefield and a very complicated search is the search for love. IMO the only answer is to follow ones own heart, there's the rub, because unless one has access to one's own emotional source the whole search is going to complicate still farther.
