    That means you define 'Prayer' broadly. You then subsume the incident here under it and get out of your consideration with 'There is doubt about whether the two spoke audibly' because you personally happen to use the word prayer to refer to any kind of prayer at all, and shows no standard preference for official, public, or mass prayers.

    T2 called that 'applying your personal filter'.

    That is a much broader definition than commonly used, and it probably reflects our practice. Still, where I come from a Prayer is always spoken loud, and distinct from a Quiet Prayer. There we go again: When I call you a fool ...

    Ragusa, that just seems odd to me. Yes, I used 'prayer' to refer to... prayer. Sure, there are such things as quiet prayers, but they're still prayers, like all squares are rectangles, or all legal decrees are decrees, all quiet prayers are still prayers.

    You're right, that's a matter of personal word usage, but it really does seem like an odd distinction to me.
