I am a power gamer and a role player. HOW'S THAT?

Well, I always create my first party with strengths. I find that the first time I play the game it's hard enough without me making it harder by picking strange class-combinations to make up my party. Thus, my first party was a stout: Fighter/Paladin/Ranger/Fighter-Cleric/Fighter-Thief/Illusionist.

Obviously the game is easier each time you play it, so I tend to try out some of the other classes and races afterwards.

Now, that said, I still was very attached to my first set of characters, and enjoyed taking them through the adventure.

I'm tired of people who make things difficult for themselves and declare that to be roleplaying. Role-playing is player specific, not class specific. You could do an admirable job of roleplaying an entire party of fighter/magic-user/thieves if you wanted to. It's up to the player.

So people who say a Fighter/Thief is a power-gamer class, and that playing with a single classed Thief makes you a paragon of role-playing ability, should get their heads examined.

    Cheers!

Now THAT was a great post, Javalar!

Completely agree with you on that. The purpose of a good RPG is to have fun, get adrenalin to your blood and just enjoy it.

Everybody likes it different and if I do not play a single class thief or if I have kicked the bard out of my party why the hell not?
