Really? Who are these "people" you're talking about, anyway? You need to be a little more specific. If you want to pick out some random guy that really is guilty of what you claim, I'll be the first to join you in calling him a hypocrite -- I, however, certainly have acknowledged the horrible human rights situations found in Sudan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Iran, and I certainly haven't given any of these nations a "pass". I'm merely holding Israel to the same standard to which I hold every other civilized nation. All you are doing here is erecting a straw-man to knock down, and the tactic is wearing thin. It's almost as annoying as it is pointless.

I'm sorry, but what the hell are you trying to say here? Because the USA took away Native lands and treated the Natives as second class citizens (and worse), Isreal has the right to do it, too? We had slaves until the civil war. Should Israel be allowed to have slaves, too, since we kept slaves? The USA dropped an atomic bomb at the end of WW2. Should Israel be allowed to deploy Atomic Bombs, too, because we did? Our treatment of our Native American population is one of my nation's greatest mistakes. It is also one of its greatest embarrassments and on of its greatest regrets. It is a deed that can never be undone, a wrong that can never be righted. That we treated our natives so poorly more than a century ago does not grant Israel or any other nation a "pass" to do the same thing now. It was wrong when we did it, and it is just as wrong today.

I havent seen a single thread on this forum about the human rights abuses of any of these other countries, I think thats specific enough.
    why just Israel?

you can acknowledge horrible human rights where ever they happen, they happen in every country in the world, there's a difference between acknowledging and the active complaining about Israel.
so, once again, why just Israel?

Thats touching what Im saying, how the hell can the USA hold itself higher when its built on these things its total hipocracy? without the abuses which were committed in history the USA would be nothing more then tribes fighting amongst themselves, the stronger force put down resistance and took control of all of the territory under its banner, and over a period of time most have adapted to that banner, Israel's occupied territories look bad now, but given free reign to completely put down resistance in the occupied territories and then given time, the area could support one democratically elected banner.

The reason this drags out is because of the namby pamby human rights pussies, making themselves feel better with their public outcry. But out and let them sort it out amongst themselves.

Ahh, but perhaps I don't want this. Honestly, the world will continue to turn tomorrow, and I will continue to live my life, whether some anonymous dude accepts my opinion as valid or not.

If I *did* want to convince people of my point of view, the last place I would attempt to do it is on a debate forum.

Why not? Why should Israel be immune from focused criticism?

I agree. **** human rights. Do to Israel what it did to Lebanon. Shell it into submission.

That bit isn't even that far fetched.

Netanyahu is on the record saying that the only way to deal with the Palestinians is to “beat them up, not once but repeatedly, beat them up so it hurts so badly, until it’s unbearable”. He said that while bragging about having manipulated the Oslo accords to fail. He also commented on the US as “easily moved to the right direction” and calls the high levels of popular American support for Israel “absurd”.

I am a solution orientated person, I dont care who wins so long as Its over, Israel are the only ones with the power to win this, if it wasnt for "human rights" and the international pressure would this still be going on? no, the continued suffering is caused by how long it is dragged out, Israel is never going to back down, so just let them end it.

I would rather the Nazi's win WW2 then for it to be dragged out for 60 years.

so why post on a debate foum, the only description that can be given to your posts is trolling

These forums do have a search function, you know. The truth, Shoshino, is that we all agree that the human rights situations in nations like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, North Korea, Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, Pakistan, Burma, Nepal, India, and Sudan are deplorable. There is no real controversy in discussing it, so it should come as no surprise that we would spend more time talking about the nation that more or less constantly teeters on the brink of war with its neighbors -- particularly when said nation is supposed to be one of the more advanced ones and should "know better".

Probably because no living American has ever pushed a native off his land? Our forefathers did that, and we rightly recognize that what they did was wrong. We could have lived with the natives instead of taking whatever we wanted with no regard to their rights or their well-being. This is a big country, and there was room for us to co-exist. Moreover, we each had things to offer each other. In time, our cultures could have merged. This type of thing has happened before.

In fact, one such incidence happened not far from the little island you call home. When the Celts first arrived in Ireland, there were already natives living there. These natives were rather primitive when compared to the Celts, much as the Native Americans were to the Europeans who settled in their neck of the woods. Rather than push these natives off their land, force them into servitude, or simply kill them, the early Celts for some reason chose to share their technology -- bloodlessly assuming that native population.* Who's to say something similar couldn't have been done over here? Who's to say we couldn't have been equal partners in building a future together? Who's to say that a policy of cooperation instead of conquest would have led to a less effective final result? You? How do you know that?

    * An approach that I may be so bold to point out worked a hell of a lot better than the approach employed by later would-be conquerors interested in that real estate...

So you would have no problem with the rest of the first world declaring an exterminatus against Israel?

Only because they receive an inordinate amount of support from the United States. If the United States were to withdraw this support and leave Israel to its own devices, I suspect that the problem would be 'fixed' in a matter of months.

    Or we could end Israel...

Little surprise that you would rather the Nazis win, given your blind support of Israel.

    Because I want to.

    Yep, whatever.

Mordea... do you realise that the Nazi's killed millions of jews? that the comment you have just made is the stupidest comment in the history of SPF?
Not only did you blatantly twist my comment, but youve just made what is possibly the biggest contradiction in the history of this planet.

Ill reply to the rest tommorrow, as Ive just finished work and Im knackered.
