I hailed the leaf several times, I got caffeine, stuff to cover the munchies part and games to play... awesome.

That's the bunny! I worked in an airport a few yearsa ago and wish I'd had the nuts to do something like that. You really do have to put up with some arrogant jerks!

It's the role of lesser people such as yourself to provide competent and tolerable service ("professional and courteous" would be expecting too much from the likes of you) to those of us with a higher social standing.

    :p

It always amazes me that people who are normally quite intelligent step into an airport and lose half their IQ points

I just read all about it...epic WIN! [IMG]

Too bad he's facing fedral charges for his act of awesomeness... :nolike:

In other news...I mowed the lawn for the first time in 4+ years today. I went to go use my dad's mower, but it was making the sound of death...so I went and rented one for $20. Seeing as how we never had a power-drive mower growing up, this was a pleasant surprise!

To reward my selfless act, I BBQ'd some Carne Asada. :yum:

[IMG] Left the lawn longer than that once, my mother then found a crowbar that had been grown over and a small toy dinosaur.

We think it was a toy at least. It wasn't moving.

I think this is Kit's way of say that he shaved an area of his body that can only be mentioned in MUG. :p

Do any SPers hail from Maine or Vermont in the US (or know the area well)? I'm going to do a roadtrip there next week. I was wondering if anyone knew of cool spots to visit. And I will have my dog with me, so it would have to be animal friendly places.

Any of you phone guys got an opinion on the Blackberry Curve 8350i (Sprint/Nextel)? I got issued one for work - never had a Blackberry before.

Score one good point in that it arrived in less than one day ... I don't think I've ever gotten anything shipped that fast.

The 8350i is the iDEN version of the Curve. Voice quality/signal are SUPERB, you also have Direct Connect (or Walkie talkie) on board. I hope you do not need data... as it's FAR from being iDEN's strong point.

If the 8350i wasn't so ridiculously overpriced in Canada I'd get it. Sound quality on iDEN is unmatched, and DC is awesome.

Sounds encouraging. What's the problem with data - dead spots and the like?

Data on iDEN is slow. Think of data on iDEN as a 56K modem connection. Then again, iDEN was not originally designed for data nor SMS. As a matter of fact, when the 8350i was released, sending SMS was done old-school through the browser. PITA. This was fixed, and SMS now works fine on the 8350i. Back to data, though, if you're an occasional user, you'll be fine, but HSPA/EvDO are more suited for heavy data use.

Bottom line, the 8350i as a communication device is great. As a data device... ehh, not so much.

The i1 is interesting, too... an iDEN Android smartphone. At least you get WiFi as a tradeoff to poor network data speeds.
