    Not really, no, I just assume that they'll recycle it. Guess that's putting too much faith in the human race. On the other hand I can't help myself but to pile up every plate, bowl, etc. So it'll be easier for the waiters to pick up.


    I think I'll make more coffee, it seems like the right thing to do right now.

    edit: Good news! I have coffee and chocolate cake.

    As a result of the large amount of snow and the thaw we had the last week, we are now facing the floods. Here in Cologne the river has swollen considerably, for instance the Poller Wiesen are flooded completely, and the water continues to rise. Nothing too serious so far (city is prepared as they exercise flood reaction regularly), but some people at the river bank may get wet feet anyway.

    There are also floods in my home town where I was yesterday; part of the forest behind my parent's house was flooded entirely. We didn't have anything like that in a decade where I live.

    A friend of mine was elated after having made Semmelknödel (bread dumplings) after my recipe and that his parents loved it. Point is, I had an informed if vague idea but I certainly didn't have a recipe - I made them until they felt right (literally), and told him afterwards what I used. Amusing.
