My wife had her gall bladder out yesterday. She's doing fine, and taking the opportunity to boss me around more than usual! But she's recuperating, so I'll humor her.

 

That's what happens when you get married. Wives remove their gall bladders just to have a better excuse to boss you around. Shoulda seen it coming, mate.

 

Yep, My Nan has it, my Gran had it and my step-father has just been diagnosed with it. Added to that the fact that my father-in-law is recovering from a nervous breakdown, I've only been off my anti-depressants for a few months, my husband has suffered from it, his uncle killed himself because of depression and my mother has suffered from depression for the past 25 years we're pretty much covered in our family! Sometimes you have to laugh at these things or they drive you mad (no pun intended).

 

The pun was pretty good though. Sorry to hear about all your family's mental problems The good news is that you probably won't remember all of the family woes if you get it

 

Too right, it's the one thing I've got to look forward to. Well, that and telling people that the queen is a small rubber chicken who came round for tea yesterday

 

Me, I prefer shouting random phrases like "When can the gift sneak beside a shallow matter?" or "The proven fiddle cooperates underneath the tight pride.".

Say, if we combine enough of them, we could publish our very own New Age philosophy book!

(Disclaimer : for those who like new age philosophy books, there are lot of good quality ones, but there are also very lame ones, to which this joke is about. )

Well, if it makes you feel any better, on my mom's side of the family there is schizophrenia (my grandfather was diagnosed). On my dad’s side there is bipolar disorder (my father was diagnosed manic-depressive, and I believe my grandmother had the disorder also, but was never diagnosed). The fact that both my sister and I are in our mid 30s and are functional individuals is nothing short of a miracle. But I guess it’s probably just a matter of time before I fall completely off my rocker.

So, give me a few years, and that comment about the queen will probably seem perfectly reasonable to me. At least you’ll have someone to chat with on BoM.

 

Another Blackberry case.

 

I now officially begun my termly (is that even a word ? i.e. each term) futile yet punctual and pathetic attempt at being organised for Uni. In the first two - three weeks of each term I fool myself into thinking I can plan study session and reading beyond the current week. This time I'm overly zealous, I used different colours in my google calendar to represent work, courses, and labs -- I'm on fire *

*Compared to past attempts, the sole fact that I have a weekly schedule is something.

 

Careful... you might burn out too quickly.

 

I've been told because of my choice of topic for my third year project I should probably start studying it now after confirming it with the three main lecturers on my course...

Feels a bit ominous.

 

I can't read anymore. My eyes are skipping over the words and guessing what they read.

Craziness.

 

Can't you grab your eyes from the words and put them back in their eye-sockets?

 

Nope, they've left my skull for good.

In other news, it's snowing! Yay!

 

No snow here. 'Twas forecast for some last night, but never happened. Just a bit grey and damp. Pretty usual for Scotland then!

 

Many of my work counterparts are located in Wndsor Locks, CT. A lot of them did not make it to wrok today becasue of the weather. Bunch of Nancy's!

 

It's weird that only the women named Nancy decided to stay home; why do you think that is?
