I'm glad that I'm not the only one who noticed the avatar change.

So, BA, what's with the change?

Windy today. Sunny then cloudy then sunny again. Warm for this time of year, 80 right now (almost 27C), but we're in for storms tomorrow and then considerably colder over the weekend, even the possibility of frost.

There. I am once again proving my :geezer: -hood, with my fixation on weather. My nieces and nephews assure me they knew for sure their parents were middle aged when they started watching the weather channel.

Does make me feel less decrepit to hang out here, though.

When my older son was six he liked to watch the weather channel. He also liked to swirl soap and bubbles in the bathtub water to make weather patterns.

I've been trying post something about the weather, but tend to forget what.

Reading the old RBPs is addictive.

I've got the job! Okay, maybe working in a café isn't a *real* career, but for the time being it's just alright. Yay! Money!

Edit: Waaiiiit, wasn't BA's new avatar used a long time ago by another SPer? I've definitively seen this avatar somewhere else, but can't get a name with it!

The weather on TV here, they've just started using moving arrows to represent the wind, with different sized arrows moving at different speeds in different directions. It looks so cool, but I always find I miss the actaul weather because I'm watching the wind.

May have figured something that will reduce the pain in my back. I fear it may only be a temporary solution however...

Slashed my finger to the bone thanks to a jagged piece of metal... not fun, and hurts like woah.

Been there...except when I sliced the end of my thumb (through the nail) to the bone...it was with a brand new serrated knife. The needles they stuck me with on both sides of my thumb hurt *much* worse than the actual slicing. :wail:

In other news...I saw a clip on the news of a Russian Space Shuttle floating down the Rhine River in Germany...what it's doing in Germany, I couldn't tell you...TV was on mute. :bad: :rolling:

 Nah, thanks. I just got back from the hospital - painkillers for a few days, some sewing, and I'm good to go.

Deal or No Deal is having a casting call here at a local furniture retailer this Saturday...I could care less, but the wife is leaving work 2 hours early just to stand in line with her mom. If she just so happens to be one of the 1:1000000000 people who actually gets on the show, I'll eat my sock. :skeptic: :rolling:

I love sneezing, sometimes I make myself sneeze by tickling my nose with a feather or a hair. Very rarely though. Gesundheit.

The Witcher 1.3 patch is 'UGE. So huge it doesn't even need an 'H' to prove how massive it is.

322.8 mb + slow upload speed = learn to compress people.

EDIT: There aren't any nazies in the upcoming Lego Indiana Jones game. :(

Huh, be glad they did stuff for you; I sliced my knuckle open - not to the bone though - off a kitchen knife sitting in the sink. Didn't hurt much, though maybe that was shock. I just plopped some antiseptic on the injury, bandaged it securely with a nice fabric 'knuckle bandage', and slipped a disposable glove over the hand. Babied that hand for the rest of the day to be on the safe side.

I Should have had the E.R. take a look at it; about a week later, the skin is almost completely healed and I don't think there'll be so much as a scar on the surface, but any time I rap that knuckle (to knock on something - it's the index finger of my 'primary' hand :( ) I feel a slight stabbing pain. Maybe the underlying muscle/tendon/ligament was damaged and should have had some doctoring?

ION, I'm back from a hiatus; I got my tax refund and 'blew it' on a snazzy next-to-latest generation video card and a modest LCD monitor (and clothes and books for my wife). Since the card's nVidia-based that meant I was eligible for some Steam demos and things, including Portal: The First Slice (appears to be 1/3 of the full game, if spoilers are anything to go by) and now I have GLaDOS singing 'Still Alive' stuck in my head (yes, I'd held out ALL THIS TIME since its release, but after hearing her encourage/cajole/lie to me, I had to check it out... )

I also picked up Oblivion, finally, and will be taking my Cyrodilic custom-class hero 'I Say' (named so that everyone addressing me sounds like Foghorn Leghorn :D ) into the Imperial Province once I've finally gotten him to sort out the intrigue going on in Mournhold (aka Tribunal's main quest).

The weather was drizzly and rainy and foggy today, but it's taking a chunk out of the snow banks we've got left around town - our last 'storm' was maybe in the last week of March.

Shopping around a mall or two for groceries, bills-paying (bank branch in there) and grabbing some lunch, I've come to realize that Newfies are SHORT! I'm only 5'5" (165cm it says on my Driver's License) but I was looking down at a fair number of fully-grown adults...maybe 1/3 of the people I saw.

Maybe it's the wet, icky climate that stunts our growth? ;)

    I got a present today, a toy ( teddy-chicken :p).
The disturbing thing is that it has the same wacky socks as I do...

Well, back to idling... er, studying.
