Seagulls are rats with wings...they're on par with pigeons. Stupid, ugly, and annoying. :nolike: :rolling:

I'm going with the rest of my school to a parade today that celebrates the beginning of Edmonton's big festival. It's gonna be hot and crowded. A seagull will probably poop on me. I hate teaching through the summer.

They are also incredibly competent at stealing chips- or the Aberdeen ones are, at least.

Normally, I'd agree with you. Especially in Helsinki, seagulls are attacking anything or anyone that resembles food. Scary.
But come on, it's a little baby bird that lives near my house and it's been sitting in the same place for half a day now, making this "Eeep" sound. Get's my sympathy vote.
Well, the mother's back, which is good news. What'll happen next? Tune in at eleven.

@Lore, as I said, seagulls aren't much respected here, and I heard there's other animal problems (mainly rabbits causing trouble (...why does that sound like they have a biker gang and wear leather jackets?)). So no luck, I'm afraid.

...damn - I forgot about that. I was going to take the kids. Instead I made them participate in a fun game called "clean the house from top to bottom." I wonder if they would have enjoyed the parade more? :hmm:

@ Trell and Kit - I actually like seagulls. Usually when we have 3 day old bread in the house I go and feed them. They may eat a lot of garbage but wouldn't you rather a seagull clean it up then have it rot in a parking lot? And actually, they are very beautiful birds. Their wings and bodies are very graceful. I've taken many photographs of them in flight.

I hate seagulls. One pooped on me in Japan on my second day in the country. Welcome to the Land of the <Rising Sun?> Falling Poop.

I'm in a bad mood. The buses were late to pick us up, we got stuck in a traffic jam, and the driver got lost and decided the best way to correct the problem was to pull a U-Turn that felt like a carnival ride. THIS is why I don't do field trips. Plus the Parade sucked. I hate people.

For a second I read this as "ships"... :shake:
Then again ship-stealing seagulls aren't the strangest thing you'll see in Aberdeen

A seagull once managed to get a hamburger off me. It swooped down upon me - seriously flew right past my face - while I was dining on my delicacy, and I dropped it in shock. It then proceeded to devour it with its seagull buddies.

EDIT: I missed my 1337th post (this is post #1138). Woe!

WEll, the chiropractor put 7 needles in me today. Three in my back, around the middle somewhere (she works that over every time I'm there too), three I'm not sure where exactly, but I think they were closer to the lower back and just above the hip, and one that I was very aware of at the base of the muscle that's been troubling me lately. This afternoon was pretty sore, but I'm starting to feel some releif, but that could be the painkillers working too...

Kitrax: If you even hate the State Bird of Utah, come to Ontario. There's alcohol in the beer, and the drinking age is 19 instead of 21...

The drinking age here is 18, but I agree about Canadian beer. Good stuff. I haven't had one for about 1/2 a year though. I kind of have a craving for one now though.

Bah, Canadian beer is worthless compared to stinking ol' QC's own microbreweries. One word: Maudite.

Yah, I like that one too. We used to get that once in a while for a treat but it isn't carried in all the liquor stores around here.

LOL! That deserves some Rep! :D

That doesn't do me much good. I don't like beer, and I'm 23. Besides that, I don't like cold...and your country is *way* too cold for me...even the in the summer. :p

In other news, Costco had a sale on Pepsi products, so I bought 3 36 packs of Mt. Dew! I now have enough caffeine to last me the rest of the month. :rolling:

You've obviously never been to Canada. Either that or you consider ~33C to be "cold" :p

For about 2 weeks Edmonton can get quite warm, even up to 34 degrees Centigrade. Then it cools off. Snow starts around November, but over the past decade or so weather patterns have been screwy (I believe in Climate change, just not the idea that I should make huge sacrifices and everyone else continue on their merry way.)

Come to Canada for the scenery if nothing else.

I wouldn't worry about that too much- I'm pretty sure people have thought I've needed one for the last three years or so. After a certain point, your need for haircuts stops being quite so high...
