Lychees are a type if fruit although they are called a nut. I sometimes drink Lychee flavored pop. It's kind of different.

Oh, and Alura, make sure you don't post more than 5 times per page on the Random Babble thread or the big red dragon will bite you.

*Dfly silently worries that someone might have noticed that she accidently posted six times on a page a while back* *Casts 'deceive dragon'.* :D

Ah... I kinda figured they were some sort of fruit thing...

And I just knew I was doing something wrong posting so much on this thread, I was going to ask but I forgot. Ok, this will be the last one I make on this thread for a while then. Hopefully I won't get attacked by Taluntain...

We have the same here, offered under the President's Choice banner... tried this perticular soda once. It was an... interesting experience. I was totally bananas about the Blackcurrant soda, and the [censored] DISCONTINUED IT! :wail:

Still, President's Choice offers some kickass Smokin' Stampede barbecue flavored chips, General Tao's Chicken flavored chips and some other oddball, off-the-wall flavors, so lost the Blackcurrant soda, but gained a variety of oddity chip flavour, so it's all good.

That being said... you know the drill.

I've given up pop a couple months ago. They sweeten it with Fructoce, which neutralizes the hunger suppression mechanism. I've lost over 10 lbs since I decided to stop drinking pop...

Hoo boy, looks like Florida's gonna get whacked by Fay. How seriously I don't know yet, but at least I went grocery shopping today. Not that I expect too much trouble. I seem to live in some forcefield protected bubble of the state. The last time my area got affected by tropical activity was 2004.

Does it smell like lemons here? :p

Stefanina: I hope Fay doesn't get to your neighbourhood.

ION, waterfalls are noisy. Even the tiny ones.

I love the noise that waterfalls make. Especially the big ones.

You're not doing anything wrong; even if you did go over the limit, as long as you're still on the low end of posts (everyone now needs 15+ to access certain board features), it wouldn't be a problem. We don't really watch this thread like hawks to see if anyone made 6+ posts per page unless it becomes a recurring thing. Going over the invisible line every now and then is not really an issue so no worries.

My mouse batteries died...so I'm stuck navigating the net with just a keyboard until it's charged. :bad:

Life is so unfair. :p

In other news, I'm headlining a petition at my school to have the school open on Sundays. We just want the labs open so the students who only have Sunday off can have a chance to do some work. We shall see how things work out... :rolling:

Even if she does, I'm not too worried. The newscasters act like every storm is a death-storm, but really, I'll just keep an eye on the data itself. If it looks bad, I'll leave, but really, this one looks like it's really only going to be a pain in the keester to the island and shore-living folks. I myself have decided I will likely never move to the Keys or right on the coast. Inland Florida is fine with me.

ION, back at work. This is the easy job that does not require me to fight servers... :p Still, it stinks only having one day off per week.

I don't mind the sound, I guess, but I'd hate to be around one all the time. One of my ears still gets "waterfall static noise" and I've only been there for one afternoon. (I watched some clouds, danced, chased hedgehogs, almost took a nap... picnic stuff :p )

Although, tbh, I generally have a low tolerance for any kind of loud sounds (noise, music, speech, drills...). The usual results are headaches and inability to focus. Someone told me that I watch TV/listen to music in a "near-mute" mode. Which could be true - I'm always reducing volume.

/me reads about Kit's computer mouse and gets a bad flash back...

Using keyboard only is an exercise in improvisation and anger management...

    A kind of auto-mobile cat food. :p

Seriously, my ex-boss liked to tell the story of when he first started at my old workplace. A bunch of new translators (including himself) were working in the new version of Microsoft Word (which, at the time, was version 2.0) on brand new computers with a new device called a "mouse". They all noticed a large vertical bar in the middle of the screen and finally, after several hours, one of them figures out that it is the "mouse pointer"; and that you can move it around on the screen by moving the "mouse" on the table. And, what's more, if you "click" with the "button" on the the "mouse", you can actually move the insertion point in MS Word, without using the arrow keys on the keyboard! :D

That's why I can't find it anymore. I bought some of that a couple of months ago and couldn't find it again. I agree that it was pretty damn nice soda. *sigh* They always discontinue the best things.

For some reason I initially read this as "danced with hedgehogs, chased clouds..."

I can sympathise, I usually have the volume at what everyone around me considers muted. However my low tolerance for loud noise seems to be specific to artificial noises - fans, TV, doors slamming, the bloody drills on the street in front of my room... I don't have this problem with rain (we're talking the torrential type), loud winds, waterfalls or any other "natural" sounds, including people talking. Not really sure why.
