Ugh...I woke up at 1pm yesterday, which was 4 hours early. I've been up ever since...but I've got to *stay* up till 9am today.

To make matters worse, I'm fresh out of Mt. Dew.

Sounds like something I would complain about... except I don't have a late night job

 

Been out with my mother today. My feet are killing me and I'm at the end of my tether with her! She doesn't listen!!!

 

I went to visit my parents from work, and went by bike. What I thought were about 30 km, were in fact 35km, and some more considering me getting lost under way. That's twice what I usually do on my way back from work, and something I'd like to repeat. It was gorgeous weather when I was driving along that (admittedly, pretty small) river that led me to my old home.

To me it is always something quite different to eventually ride by bike or trek a route that you theoretically know. You come to a different understanding of the landscape.

But what is left to be said is that my bike begins to show the discomforting signs of wear and tear and I realise that sooner rather than later I'll have to replace it after two decades of (ab)use. At least, my noble wire steed was good for a couple thousand kilometres. It earned its right to soon rust in peace.

 

Scratch that...RL happened...I can't go to bed until 7am *tomorrow*... 42 hours of being awake isn't going to make me a very pleasant person to be around.

At least my Mt. Dew situation has been resolved.

 

I've suspected for some time that my upstairs neighbours were weird, but now they've gone completely bonkers.

There's a TV somewhere that's always on at strange hours of the night with the volume up. Annoying, but I got used to it. The nutjobs upstairs apparently haven't and decided that the TV is in my flat. Naturally, rather than come down, knock on my door, have a brief explanation and sort the matter out, they have resorted to knocking on the floor in what I assume is an attempt at making me turn off the TV. Since I can't comply due to my TV undergoing critical existence failure, they just keep doing this until the TV people go to bed themselves. I think I need to go have a word with them. Not to mention that they were making some awfully loud noise last week at either 6am or 1am, depending on the day, and I don't like being woken up like this.

Come to think of it maybe there was some noise or that TV on those occasions, and what I thought was noise was actually them trying to make me turn the noise down. If that's the case I need to have some rather stronger words with them.

 

Can't you just go round and explain to them?

 

Neighbors suck. Fortunately, I can only hear our neighbors if they were to toss a bowling ball down the stairs...and that rarely happens. Thick walls with good insulation should be mandatory for every multi-unit home.

 

QuIte embarrassing...I've this weird infection on the side of my mouth and people probably think it's cold sores, but it's not...I guess...

At least it doesn't look like the cold sore pics you have in the net...

Sheet.

 

I am de-icing my mom's fridge, and by now I have extracted a full bucket of ice from it, and I am not even finished. What does she think she's (not) doing?

 

So tired, and for no good reason!

 

ION...Well, after a good year of self-destruction, I am back to my straightedge ways... no more energy drinks, no more tobacco, no more drugs and no more booze, and I can honestly say I haven't felt this good in a long time. I stumbled upon a few of my friends from back in the days, and I was told I was a shadow of my former self... which got me thinking, and I realized they were right. I do not NEED any kind of intoxicants, much less WANT them.

Also, I've scaled down my expenses to ths strict minimum, and thanks to the return to my straightedge ways, the extra cash from not buying any kind of intoxicants will go fatten my savings account. Getting out of this stinking Quebec City hole is an extra-powerful source of motivation... and while I am cursing like a cross of a drunken marine and a drunken sailor, the extra hours I'm doing today (which was supposed to be a day off... ) means extra cash, which means closer achievement of "The Exile".

I'm making a big map for a game of Traveller I'm planning for my friends, the photoshop file is 112MB so far and its about halfway done D: the canvas is 1m by 1m lol!
