Huh. We didn't have a holiday for Canada Day. We just hung a Canadian flag from the Auckland harbour bridge alongside the NZ flag. Nothing ridiculous about showing a bit of respect for our Canadian friends and having a bottle of Canadian beer.

It's nothing compared to what you guys all do on Ireland's national day.......

What's Irelands national day? If it is St. Paddy's Day, then all we do is get hammered.

Hmm, tired, bored, and tempted. Not a good combo.

@Charlie - Ask the Dutch about Zeeland.

All I found by Googling was that particular spelling.

I do not mind getting knocked out on Saint Patrick's day, but I do mind those b******s who wave american flags around here and celebrate the 4th of july. WTF? What does USA's independance day have to do with us?!?! I seriously doubt that any americans go around celebrating the 22nd of september, or do they?

Zealand is the anglicised spelling of just that. ;) It's probably See-land => Zee-land, just sea land.

According to my Google search the name Nova Zeelandia or Nieuw Zeeland was gived to the land in the 1600's. It was possibly named after the second most important chamber of the Dutch East India Company.

Hurray for good old Saint Paddy's Day!

The pretty much only non-secualr Irish holiday.

Wow, Edgefest was absolutely freaking amazing! Every band that played was awesome, and Alexisonfire and Rise Against even covered Any Way You Want It! The only thing that sucked about it was for some reason the temperature dropped to the low teens near the end! At 5, we were sweating like there was no tommorow, and by 7 we were huddled together for warmth! :p Oh yeah, I also got a really nice Alexisonfire shirt!

Really tired myself. Had a family reunion. A pain in the ass if your family is the one that takes the responsibility for most of the stuff that needs to be done, but you meet some interesting people that you didn't know before...

Hoohahahahaha! I skipped my family reunion to go to Rhythm & Booms, and it was awesome!!! Well, the actual Rhythm & Booms part wasn't as good as previous years, but the party beforehand was kickin'!

EDIT: Okay, now it's "kickin'" me in the head. G'night y'all.

Well I have recently aquired a broken rib. Now I have difficulty breathing or typing as I slashed my index and middle finger to the bone a couple days ago. I seriously need to find a new job.
