Today is bieng spent job hunting, and trying to find out about friends of mine in Louisiana and Mississippi.

@Enagonios: Well, your job is to conquer the woman, theirs is to protect her. Perhaps try and become more friendly and familiar with them. Break the ice and develop a friendly relationship. You're going to keep seeing them for a couple of decades if this lasts.

@Ofelix: Friends can be wonderful girls, too, and you never know. Romance without friendship is empty. Relationships are most often wasted, friendships are most often not. Invest in friendships, friendships will last. If romance kicks in, you'll have something to build on. Even if this means staying single for a long time, you're better off single than in a toxic or crappy relationship. Besides, if you manage to combine friendship and romance in one relationship, you'll be set. Golden.

I asume you meant its her birthday? If so Congratulation! And a Happy birthday to her is in order.

Technically, her birthday was August 31st, but she wasn't born until 11.39 at night. She got her Harry Potter book and is happy with the clothes.

@chev - Until things fall apart and now you're not only out a romantic partner but a friend as well!

 

Hmmm...interesting. I go to a local cabinetry shop to hand in my resume, and get offered the job. Probel is: driving arangments. The shift is from 7am till 5pm-ish, and my g/f works from 2pm till 10pm.

So I *might* have a job *if* we can work out how each of us will be getting to work with the one car. Taking the bus is out of the question since there are no stops within 1-2 miles of the job I might be getting, and there's no way I'd let my g/f take the bus alone.

@Ofelix, Jathszu: Although I've been preaching this for some time independently, the exact wording ("Romance without friendship is empty") is Rally's.

@kuemper: Sometimes you lose the lover but get to keep the friend. When it's just a lover and you lose the lover, you lose everything. For many people this works differently, but the idea of having a lover who isn't a friend is less appealing to me than the idea of finding a new friend who isn't a lover.
