Ha, I think I am getting spoiled by the quality of the hotels that we stay in on business.

I was complaining a little about how the hotel I am staying at isn't as nice as the one I wanted to stay at (I am at the Palmer House instead of the Drake for those of you who know Chicago) so my father e-mailed me one of my photos from a sleeze bag hotel that I stayed at in Alaska together with a website photo of the lobby of the hotel I am staying at. The difference is highly amusing.

Well, if you have fresh sheets, a nice bathroom, no bugs, no noisy neihbors - hear-through walls, and a comfortable bed, don't complain.

Well, it is not the room itself so much but at the Drake I would be getting a free bottle of wine in my room, a gift box of chocolates, and much better food plus free alchoholic drinks in the executive lounge.

@Dragonfly nice spaghetti, thanks; and the sauce needed a little garlic  it's not garlic if it doesn't have at least half a bulb :)

    Good evening everyone else :D

I guess their both the same price ($200 per night). Poor guy -- I really feel sorry for you to have to settle for the Palmer House (I believe the Irish restaurant in the southern portion of the hotel has Guiness on tap).

Try to make it to one of the museums. You can eat lunch at the Fine Arts Museum -- they have a really cool arms and armor collection at the museum.

Just what do you do to get such perks?

Ahhh poor little bear :D . To console yourself might I suggest two hours in a cheap lounge, a trip to the convenience store for a tastey chocolate bar, and then a meal in a nearbye fastfood place because if you drink enough you can just pretend the food is good.

It shouldn't cost you that much and maybe you can get the same effect.

*Dfly takes another sip of her rum and coke and wishes she was staying in a hotel for a while with someone else to cook and clean for her.*

@T2Bruno - What I do to get such perks is spend nearly a third of my time travelling on business and staying at Hilton hotels. I am a Hilton diamond member meaning that I am at the highest level of the frequent guest program. At the end of this trip I will have spent 57 nights (and over $14,000 U.S.) at the Hilton in the last six months.

Oh, and yes the price of the Drake and the Palmer House are generally the same. This time the middle week-end of my stay wasn't available at our corporate rate at the Drake so I ended up having to either stay at the Palmer House or change hotels over the week-end.

Edit: Sigh, I guess it is about time to quit work and head back to the hotel to see if the executive lounge free hors d'oeuvres are passable as dinner.

Just got my platinums installed. One word: OUCH. Removing stainless from the ahh, privates, is not very pleasent. Fortunatly, my piercer is a competent lass, and knows how to make it less worst.

And since the platinums are smaller, I've got to be careful when taking a piss... ahh, joy.

I have had the most cr*ptacular afternoon/night. Everything just hit me all at once, ya know? I won't see my mom before she bites the dust, my kid won't get her Xmas/b-day/mom-still-loves-you care package and my outings are curtailed due to an injury.

    *sigh*

Time for some severe carnage. :smash:
