I think I'm getting either a cold or a sinus infection. I hope it's not the flu...

So very sleepy...I might got to bed at a "normal" time tonight.

 

Yes, but as others have mentioned, it can be with pretty much any ingredients, so I was interested in what was in your particular one, other than potatoes and carrots, which (yummy, nutritious, and economical though they might be) are unlikely to be the central element of the dish.

@Harbs: Technically, "pot roast" isn't roasted at all, it's braised. As such, it's a great meal for making in a slow cooker. In general, you combine meat, veggies, seasonings, and some sort of liquid in a dish, cover tightly, and cook until the meat is falling-apart tender and the liquid has become gravy. Veggies tend to be things that will stand up to the long cooktime, like potatoes and carrots (put your greens on the side, or add in the last few minutes before serving).

Don't waste a good cut of meat on pot roast - the cooking method is great for tenderizing budget cuts. Look here for a list of recipes.

 

Rally, thanks for the recipes. I thought I saw a thread about cooking a week or so ago. I will have to find it and see what else I can glean from your knowledge of things culinary.

 

Yay! After 3 months of unemployment, I found myself a new job!
Lots of problems going on there, but seemingly my new employer trusts that I can handle it. There were a lot of candidates, but they picked me. Oh, I feel so special. Well, actually, it *is* an other boost to my morale.
