    Disturbing news. :(

Mom's in Ames with her cancer returning double time. More chemo treatments.

Dad's in Des Moines in a cardiac unit because he had a heart attack while driving Mom to Ames yesterday. He managed to get himself to the ER at home, knocking over a stop sign. He's supposed to get a difibulator put in, but he's got a serious infection.

And I'm not to worry.

Thanks, Occy, I surely am happy with the result. :D Thanks, Dragonfly, Shell, Tal, and Iku-Turso, in the other order of appearance. :D

@Daie: Still have to write and submit the thesis but have taken all the needed courses and credits already... I went quite a lot above the requirements for the previous years, so now I can focus on the thesis. I can gruadate early in fact, but I might instead take time to come up with something really extraordinary and perfect the thesis instead. ;) Bar apprenticeship entry exams will be in July, so I might be able to take them if I study in the spring, and I'm also looking at a doctorate.

I just bought a new bag of bagels. Who ever knew that a family could get addicted to bagels in such a short time?

Ugh...the stupid garbage man came at 10am, and decided to make a lot more noise than they usually do. Then UPS guy came by and pounded on our door like he was being attacked by a bear. And after that, there were a bunch of idiot kids running up and down the stairs until the late afternoon.

    Sleep? What's that? :bad: :rolling:

@ kuemp: My sympathies. I hope they both pull through.

We've got a critter in the roof. I'm thinking raccoon or possum sized from the noise. Gotta go get the live trap for Grandma's tomorrow to get the thing out of the roof.

We never get raccoons or possums here, actually there aren't even rats here. We do seem to have a lingering mouse living in the bedroom wall. It drives me nuts because it likes to chew close to where we are sleeping at around 3am. It never actually comes in any of our rooms because we have a grey and white mousinator (although she is 17 yrs old).

The only rats in this house are the ones that live in my room. One of them is looking at me expectantly for food right now... LOL

    (yes, they are pet rats)

We have possums outside on the tree next to my apartment. And I remember when I was growing up we had possums in the attic, 'cause they crawled up under the eaves and got in...And then, since there were quite a few of them in there, they'd have big fights and wake everyone up, and occaisionally chew through the wiring.

Solution; A carpet snake crawled in there one day.

The racoons at my work like to lick the polish off of my boots. I also feed them carne asada and pretzels. When they eat too many pretzels they rub their mouths on the wet lawn to wipe away the salt. Good times.
