In oter news, the Dave Matthews Band concert last night really kicked ass.

Those damn Zork Games are too hard! I'd love to complete one, but I just haven't got the patience, I even tried mapping it, but that went out the window when I reached a room that disorientates you so you always end up coming out somewhere different even if you used the same exit twice...might have to hunt down a walkthrough or something.

 

I though grue meant somekind of a bird-thingy.

There seems to be a celebration in town.

Raining here. We are desperately dry - brush fires big problem - so rain is very good, as long as there is no lightning to start said fires.

Work is uber boring today. Today is the uni's graduation, so everyone's there cheering friends on.

I am also praying for rain to any deity that will listen. I am so tired of smelling smoke from wildfires north and south of me. Ugh. It's really doing a number on my sinuses...

 

I pictured a grue as looking like Gollum/ Golum however the hell you spell it, from LotR

 

I want to learn enough Russian to sing:
"Kalinka, kalinka, kalinka moya!
V sadu yagoda malinka, malinka moya!"

 

My stomach rebels. I'm qoing to quell that uprising with aquavit!

 

Technology sucks.

 

Yay, we got some rain! Still need more, but hopefully this will knock down the smoke smell a bit.

 

I've said it before, and I'll say it again after this - my workplace is proof of the aphorism "In the Land of the Blind, the one-eyed man is king."

It's not doing my attempts to be less cynical and pessimistic when the most commonly said thing when I start a shift is "Ohthankgodyou'rehere!"...by my BOSS.


@Trell - um, didn't you just do that? I know just the 'essentials' in Russian ('yes', 'no', 'hello', 'goodbye', 'help', 'Do you speak English?' and 'bathroom' ) but I could sing what you posted...


@grue-dom - apparently the creature was taken from an old English word that we derived 'gruesome' from...

I'd always imagined one of these unseeable things as a cross between a Kodiak bear and some xenomorph H.R. Geiger would think up after a really bad hangover...


This just in: my wife's got a smart mouth.

I turned to mention something to her, starting off with "Ya know..."

She cut me off with "Yeah. I do."

So I quickly recovered and replied "Oh, good." and turned back to this post.

I love her.
