Are there any good free firewalls that will work with 64-bit Vista? I have a shiny new pc, but ZoneAlarm won't work.

You know, I never heard of a computer with a Chuck Norris or Clint Eastwood wallpaper being hacked. Hmmm, it might just work! :1eye:

I'd go for a Bruce Campbell with a chainsaw, just to be safe.

Too busy to think but that of course does not preclude babbling.

Jaded Empath, glad you're a little better. It was starting to sound like pneumonia. If that short of breath thing comes back - maybe it is.

There, Dr. Revmaf, the nonthinking babbler, has spoken.

The guy who lives above us just tried to get in our door with his key. Drunk, perhaps?

Well, I made it; again, I had to fight a strong desire to curl up on the floor and nap...just after I got back from a break. :( About an hour after that, I seemed to stabilize and just plod through my work. :bad:

Revmaf: I may have a really mild case - I'm very rarely coughing up tiny little bits of clear phlegm, and am taking an expectorant cough syrup to help clear the lungs, which ARE giving me shortness of breath. As for other usual symptoms of pneumonia, the phlegm is clear, not green or yellow; no fever or chills; I can't tell if I'm sweating or clammy since I usually sweat at work :D ; no headaches or muscle/joint pain; my appetite is normal.

I *am* being very cautious with this, and if it looks like it's going to turn towards the Big P, I'm off to the doctor for antibiotics in a FLASH. :)

ION, we FINALLY got word (first contact in almost a year) from Immigration - my wife needs another medical exam as well (kuemper mentioned she has to get another due to the delays). Gawd, this is a big test on one's patience...

Guess we'll discuss this at the wedding next week (mutual friend thru D&D group - see, even geeks marry! )

Just came back from a three day long party spanning across at least 120 km. I mean yesterday I slept in a freakin' farm! With cows and everything! It costed 120$ in food, beer, weed, bus/train tickets. But it was very very worth it! I had a great Saint-Jean

You can but it takes time for the paperwork, background checks, family history, medical exams, etc. to all get processed so's the petitionee can receive official Residency (so they can work, etc)

And when you're immigrating into a popular country that many other people want to enter, that stack of applications gets pretty big and takes a lot of time to shift through. :bad:

(I'm just glad I gave up on trying to immigrate to the U.S.; we've got 1/10 the population up here; I shudder to think how little progress through THOSE WAITING LISTS I'd have after four years :( )

@flix - cool! $120 for THREE-DAY *all-inclusive*? You rocked to have so much fun so cheaply! :D

I somehow made it through my Linux administration class with an A. I'm not sure how, as I still feel quite lost in Linux, but hey, I'm not going to complain.
