Gender identity and sex are two different things. You can identify as a man or a woman (or something in between), but your chromosomes will always determine your sex. :D

I disagree. It's whether she's willing or not that determines my sex.....life. :D

One of my female employees asked me today while we were eating lunch, who I would prefer the most to have kids with in the company. Very odd question.

Well I'll be damned, I just got a part time job in a convenience store. I've essentially became Dante from Clerks. Except I'm not a college dropout (well an ex dropout technically, I came back) and I'm not in my 30s, I'm in my, **** late 20s ? Is 25 considered late 20s ?

The interview was weird though, didn't really asked any questions. Just look at my resume, asked me if I was available that and that days and voilà, I'm gainfully employed. I start Friday btw.

I'm still in shock, I've been looking for a part time job since January 2013 -- It's kinda weird. I'm happy though.

@Nobleman; Yeah it's not you that was a really weird question.

Remember Dante, I mean Ofelix, there is no point in having a job at the quick-mart unless you can pass out free Gatorade. C'mon, don't puss out on the Gatorade Dude! And no watching hermaphadite porn. At least, don't get caught.;)

Oh and I guess I'm not supposed to sell cigarettes to four years old or close up the store to play roof hockey either ? You can't tell me what to do you're not my supervisor !

And btw, the hermaphrodite porn was Randy's thing not Dante's. Dante's (arguably) the good guy in Clerks.

Is it hard for you to find a job? Or is it the "part time" that's relevant because of school?

I get several job offers every month, and I've started finding creative ways of saying "no". :shake:

Both I guess, I always had a hard time finding jobs plus it needed to be part time so I can continue going to uni.

Edit: I've been marginally productive today, let's mindlessly surf the web ! Y'see, this term I've decided that instead of writings my papers, studying, reading, etc. in occasional glorious bursts of pure intellectualism , I'd do a little of each everyday of the week. After four weeks it's too early to tell if this strategy is effective. I guess I'll know by the end of the term if my grades have improved compared to past terms.

I've always done everything in bursts when I was at uni. But I had a 9+ GPA, so there was no point in trying to improve my methods. Overall, I think it's important to do the grind daily, and all the creative work when inspiration strikes. That should ensure you both get things done and make them good.

On an unrelated note, it's a sad day when you have to uninstall video codecs to make video scenes in a game work.

Flix's dumb rhetorical questions brought to you by: Boredom ! Boredom, the thing that makes you do dumb stuff.

How come the ten cent coin is smaller than the five cent coin despite having more value ? The 2$ coin is bigger than the 1$ which is bigger than the 25 cents and so forth...

How come scrambled eggs smell so atrociously bad yet taste awesomely good ?

Why is there so many douches enrolled in MBAs ?

The amount of different "speech sounds"* humans can do is limited by physiology, then how come aliens' languages in Sci Fi are also limited to the same sounds in human speech despite having different physiology ?

    * Y'know like, "a", "p", "v", "ch", etc.

I always wondered why people say that the only planets capable of supporting life would have an atmosphere like ours

Because of our current understanding of what life is, every living thing on earth share some characteristic such as needing water and oxygen to live. So we assume alien life would follow similar rules. It's not that life couldn't exists on other planet with different kind of atmospheres, but rather that we haven't had any proof that it exists. Thus we limit our defenition of life to what we know to be alive. It's a great exemple of confirmation bias.

It's generally accepted that life would require water, but there's no real reason why it would require oxygen. It's perfectly reasonable to assume that life could thrive in a different atmosphere.

All that aside, I've seen plenty of fiction that features both alien vocalization (assuming the race communicates vocally) as well as dependency on a different type of atmosphere.
