Michael Kiske is the singer in the "Keeper of the seven keys" albums, Hansen was Helloween's lead vocalist in "Helloween" and "Walls of Jericho".

Who is the singer for their more recent albums, like The Dark Ride, etc? I really like his vocals.

I got round to hearing the new Samael song on their website and I like it!

I wish I could find Edge of Sanity albums. I love Twilight and Black Tears.

That's a good one. "Going to California" is my favorite song on that album.

Hehe, dudes! I'm a friggin rock singer now! :D
I'm just beaming with foolish pride!

But sheesh! the band that quite recently took me up as a singer is expecting ME to practically compose the vocal parts of their songs!

I told them that I don't know anything about music, that I just know how to sing. And the previous band I was in did pretty straightforward rock 'n roll, so just singing along something that sounded fair enough wasn't that hard. Anyways, these guys take making music pretty seriousy, so just anything that first pops into my mind isn't good enough for them. Demands, demands, demands...

Still, now that the thing is slowly starting to roll, it reminds me how fantastic it is to get to sing and to be a part of making some music.

I'd imagine there'd be tons of singers quite as good as me. So it's quite puzzling why I've already gotten into two bands only on the basis of how good a singer I am...apparently even as good singers as your humblest here aren't that easy to find...

So tell me guys and girls who're in a band that has looked for singers, how hard is it to find a decent singer?

Very. Lots and lots and lots of auditions. It's not just a matter of finding a good singer, it's also a matter of finding someone who connects with the rest of the band.

We haven't found a decent BM vocalist yet, so the duties still fall on me. I'm improving, though.

There are lots of good singers and guitarists here, but a decent drummer is hard to find. Ego problems are the biggest annoyance

I can do decent black metal vocals, but my voice is more suited to Irish folk, which seems to scare most people.

Oh, yeah, drummers with gigantic egos. I've seen my fair share of those, too...

But fortunatly, our own skin-beater is laid-back and relaxed kind of guy - he keeps a low profile and doesn't speak much, but bloody hell, when it comes to playing, he kicks serious butts.

Is that a subtle offer? Thanks, but no thanks, I'll just destroy my throat some more until BM shriek is perfected enough. :p :p :p :p :p

Too bad you don't need death growls :p I could do some of those (but only for 10 min per week  )

I hold my own just fine when it comes to death vocals. In fact, if we played DM we wouldn't have to search for a decent vocalist - I could fill that post just fine.

'Taker, the trick is to previously damage your throat so bad that DM vocals will come out smooth.

New? I thought they still had the 'fat monk' singing for them. He looks funny, but he sure can sing.

You mean Messiah Marcolin? Yeah, one heck of a vocalist. I wonder how the new one will fare, though...

I just discovered a band called Gallhammer. They sound like old Celtic Frost. The strange thing is that the band consists of 3 good looking Japanese girls.

Got CDs by Communic and Therion back at Christmas, anyone listen to either of them? I must say that I am impressed with both of them (although more Therion than Communic).

Other than that I am currently devoting my energies to figuring out how to get to Wacken this year. Awesome looking line-up (Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Therion... )!

I never heard of Communic, but I like old Therion (but not very old death metal Therion).
