Having answered a call of nature Milla finally enters the 'Pit'. Seeing Jakob at the bar she walks up and stands next to him.
"One ale for me, if you please. And can you tell me what sort of food, if any, you serve here?", she asks the barkeeper.

While she waits for her ale she turns around and surveys the room. Noticing Sarathien hanging back she realises something is not right. She studies the two strangers in Garacaius, Isztar and Haydens company. One elven lady and one of those pesky Suneites.
In another part of the room more acolytes. This could be fun. She decides to stay by the bar to study the strangers before stepping in. Unsure about the elven lady but at least she doesn't seem to be a friend of the acolytes.

 

Hayden gives out a roar of laughter and slaps the table. Cutting the laughter short as quickly as he started, Hayden jumps up and faces the man staring him straight in the eye.

Giving a sneer and saying loud enough for all to hear, "Who would have thought. A Sunnite with a sense of humor... I didn't think you guys had enough time away from kissing and washing each other's ass to learn jokes!!!"

Lowering his voice to a low deep growl, "Now if you want trouble peck you chose the right person to come too. If you going to do something do it, if not get the hell out of my sight..." Hayden looks down and spits on the acolyte's foot, and glares back at him with jaw and fist clenched.

 

Hearing Hayden's retort from across the room, Sarathien fully expected things to heat up considerably. Trying to be inconspicious about his movements, the ranger tried to put himself in a position close to the path the other Sunites would have to take to reach their companion.

Once in position the elf tried to catch Milla's attention, signaling for her to do the same and to be ready.

 

Jakob nods towards Milla. "No problem," he replies. Collecting up the drinks on a tray, and paying the barman (OOC: how much? One vodka, one water and four ales), he starts towards the table. Noticing that things seem to be heating up, he sets the tray down on the bar, and starts nervously sipping at his own drink. "No need to get these precious drinks spilled in some brawl, after all" he mutters to himself.

 

The bartender came over to Hayden and the Sunneite. "Gentlemen, gentlemen. You know the house rules, no open brawling. All disputes to be settled in the Pit. No arms, no armour, no magic. Last one standing is the victor. What's it to be? Does one of you wish to apologise?"
The acolyte eyed Hayden and grimly shook his head.
"My honour, and that of my church has been compromised. I cannot let this insult pass."

 

"Shall we.."

Hayden walks towards the pit, undoing his armor.

 

Solarus, the Sunneite acolyte, nodded his assent and removed his robes. They were checked to be 'spell free' before entering the Pit. The others placed bets on Hayden to win. The bell rang and Solaris threw the first punch, Hayden replied. They traded blow for blow but Hayden's superior strength gradualy told. Finally he brought his fist down on the Sunneites head and he was knocked out. His friends dragged him away.
Uto had been covering the bets, he invited Hayden to fight Bruno, the half orc bouncer at odds of 5:1. After healing, Hayden agreed. Although his opponent was heavier Hayden dodged many of the blows and Bruno slipped to the ground. A well timed kick to the head weakened the half orc so that when he got to his feet Hayden was able to put him out for the count. Once again the party made a lot of money on side bets. Sarathien and Milla then staged an exhibition bout, which Milla duly won.
Uto turned out to be a Cartographer, and they said they would visit his shop the next day. Returning to the table thet agreed that 'Lassael could join them on their mission. Sarathien and Milla took her through the mirror to show her what might be in store. The others decided to stay in town, Jakob had a mighty turnip vodka induced hangover to overcome.

75xps each to Garacaius, Milla, Sarathien and Jakob.

 

Once she was through the mirror, feeling only slightly dizzy and disoriented, 'Lassael turns to Sarathien and Milla.

"So we are here to stop some grave danger threatening the world...but what is hidden behind this mirror?"

 

After watching the last of the group walk through the mirror, Hayden again checks all the exits. Taking his shield he leans it against the door so that if an intruder enters, it will knock over the shield waking him. After feeling everything is secure, Hayden lays on the bed. After a prayer to Tempus in thanks for the victories of the night, Hayden begins to think of the new armor he will be getting in the morning and slowly drifts to sleep.
