    True, a marilith is a female avatar, but that doesn't mean much. Afterall, if we can have a member that goes from a basilisk to fall-from-grace that's male then gender can't be decided on avatar.

    Takara has a point. The avatar doesn't dictate the gender of the poster. I remember calling Felinoid a 'she' several times simply because 85% of the cats I have known were female - this was when he had that snow leopard avvy.

    If I don't know the poster's gender, I'll use their name, the lovely pronoun/contraction of 's/he' or avoid mentioning it.

    But I believe some of the female avatars on the list do (or did) state for female members only.

    We've had female avatars/portraits only for females at some point, but the males who wanted female ones were always determined to get them despite very likely being mistaken for females when they posted, so I let them. But I always warn them about that first.

    I would have gotten a female avatar but it seems this one fit more my char. Afterall, I'd rather be looking at a female avatar then a male one :p

    On that note, I remember calling someone in the chat a "he" or "she" twice by accident first time I joined, I think it was spell I called a he?
