I hope I'm putting this in the right place. I'm just looking for advice on how to beat the Gatekeeper. Those arrows are completely worthless. Any help would be appreciated

Dont think I ever finished Shivering Isles I grew bored when I just wacked everything in the same way without getting hurt (hmm this sounds like a brag but I tend to powerlevel like a madman and then when I actually play the game I find it boring as all combat is easy/repetetive) but you have tried all normal ways of attacking? Enchanted swords? Poison? Destruction magic?

I use the Umbra with soultrap on it, which ripped thru everything in Oblivion and Knights of the Nine. I use those arrows from the dead Gatekeeper. I use spell scrolls I have, and all destruction magic I might have, and nothing will hurt this thing. What am I doing wrong?

Is that the first thing you encounter in Shivering Isles? Usually if a boss or monster is hard in Oblivion there is some gimmick to kill it. Long time since I did it but I relied quite a bit on walk throughs and such on the few difficult bits. www.gamebanshee.com has a good one.

You might need the "bone arrows" from some guy in the village. I think his name is Jarred, but I'm not sure anymore. He has to make them for you from the Garden Of Bones.

Yes, it's the first boss you get to. I have those bone arrows. They are pretty worthless. I've checked a couple of walkthroughs, and they just say the bone arrows will kill it. They don't. But I'll check that banshee site and see if it tells me any different. Thanks a lot

It is a quest thing. Follow the quest-line and it is made vulnerable.

there's also a certain poison which weakens it, made from a particular someone's tears.

I did follow the quest line, but nothing seems to hurt it. Game banshee was no help at all. I'll keep looking for the poison, tho. I haven't found anyone crying yet, tho

It is right in front of you. Talk to NPC's, look for clues in buldings.

The quest is called: Trough the Fringe of Madness.

BTW you will find all info on Banshee.
