Way da go! Slappy is the man! Quite impressive feat you pulled here.
But i must say that BG2 gets easier for every run through it. The first time i played it i played at the normal difficulty and had serious problems and didnt do any of the "hard" quest aka hidden rune kangaxx etcetera.
But in my previous run it is way too easy and i play with a assassin (great class) wich i think have been getting a little unfairly treatment by some of the people of the boards his backstab is quite effective with Celestial Fury he dishes out approxmately 50-140 dmg on a succesful backstab

Thanks for the commensts. I agree with you on the getting easier every time thing. Yep definately does. Another factor is it probably 'seems' more difficult first time because so many of the monsters are unknown. The first time I saw the Shadow Dragon I nearly wet myself. Because I had the gem thing I didn't even consider trying to fight it. Effcetively I suppose it is a fear of the unknown. Of course it is actually harder as well because you have still to learn what tactics will work.

You've also reminded me that I didn't mention the dificulty I used. I did everything on the core rules setting. I also have all the patches available instaled so that might make a slight difirence to people.

Another things I was going to say links back to the difficulty and my commenst about magic adding more tactical elements. In my case, my first run through was very traditional in party make up with a slight bias towards holy magic. I was a Halfling Priest of Lathendar and I had Minsc, Jaheira, Aerie, Imoen/Jan, Valygar. Second time through was all Women plus me as a Sorcerer so very heavy bias towards magic and ranged attacks, third time through you all know about. Based on this the first time was fun (except for my general reservations about the game I've mentioned in other threads), second time was almost as good third time through things were definately a bit duller with only flashes of pure carnage being highlights. Now of course the game will always get duller each time through, but I think the second time was made much better because of all the tactics that openend up to me. So my point (at last) is that it might be better to use a non-magic party first time through then go for a traditonal or magic bias party. In this way, the first run through is simpler to play so you can concentrate on enjoying the story and finding all the cool armour and weapons. Second time through can then be a much more tactical experience as you get used to the magic system and exploit your knowledge from the first game.

Oh and finally, another thing I should have said. Even more so than the non-magic thing I think my expereince proves that ANY combination party mix can get through the game. It just takes different tactics and perserverance. Anyway enough writing more playing...

PS I think I'll miss Slappy Four the mighty Dwarven Barbarian (I think he'll have to come back for ToB)
