Solo: "Made or done by a single individual."

According to the dictionary, you can bring people along, but they can do anything.

Anyway, Buck's and idiot. This is not a stupid argument. (Well, ummm, come to think about it all BG2 arguments are stupid, but that's not the point!) Soloing is a valid part of any BG game.

I say, if you do all the hard parts by yourself, but take an NPC along for romances etc. than power to ya! It'll just make it harder because you only get a fraction of the XP.

PLAY HOWEVER YOU LIKE -- I don't care.

Call it "industrial smoothing" if you like -- just understand that you look like an IDIOT doing so....

Hey -- Dirty Harry never took a partner, but he always got laid. Reducing this discussion to semantics misses the entire point.

("WORDS MEAN THINGS" well, no $hite, but English is a living language, and every word in common use meant something completely different 100 years ago. But I digress)

Anyways, the entire point was to discuss whether it was even possible to dump and retreive romance characters in order to perform dungeons solo and piock them up after. "What here baby, daddy's got a date with a dragon!" so, George Constanza, I mean, Buck Naked, is it possible in game engine terms to do this? (with ladies other that Jaheira)

I think you could still call that soloing from aroleplaying perspective, though perhaps not from a pure gaming perspective. Though it seems to me that "% of Experience in Party" is rounded UP to the nearest percentage point, which means that an the NPCs could collectively earn up to 56, 050 XP without Earning 1% of total party experience (When the PC is at the cap of 2950000 XP)

Thus your PC will still be at 100% XP, even though you didn't dump your girl for each trap and goblin.

IMO u can get NPCs just to do certain quests but they cant help in any way, defeats the whole purpose of going solo

For me, soloing is going totaly alone. The only NPC I've ever used for a solo game was Jan, I had him disarm a trap that always killed me. Kicked out just after, and went all solo.

Of course you always play as you like, you want to romance or something like that, it's up to you. Going totaly solo enhances the God-feeling you get, since you're EXTREMLY powerful.
It can get a big boring sometimes, though since most people who solo've already played through the game numerous times, you already know *all* the dialogoues.
