I thought about dropping the con but early on in the game every HP counts.

[IMG] I'm sure that Borus Thunderhammer could spend many a happy moment relaying tales of his adventures to Klorox Hillcleaver, and likewise, in the local tavern. Nah really though, Dwarven Fighter/Clerics are my favourite class in BG1 (which I almost always solo capped, not for challenge... well maybe, but just because). Make sure to use and abuse Draw Upon Holy Might (instant ticket to >18 strength, almost from the start, not to mention the HP + saves bonus from the CON increase).

Compound on this, Protection from Evil's slightly flawed BG1 implementation where the AC and saves bonuses are universal, along with early disablers like Hold Person, etc. Ashideena comes relatively early in the game. They can even regenerate overnight once you bump up your CON to 20 through those wonderful tomes. Many wonderful times await, I am sure... and yes, dwarves do kick ass :thumb:

My current solo of my immortal and very-often-used Krentaris Alia'madar will end within a couple of days, my first solo never to use the XP cap. Of course he will be going on to bigger things (BG2). I have also finished a Half-Elven Fighter/Thief (which is criminally fun, pardon the pun... hehe, but backstab is great, especially when you can hide right after backstabbing neutrals. :D ) I did a half-elf Mage/Cleric, though I think it was more difficult, yet in some ways easier. (read: magic resistance = argh) I got a Conjurer within reach of Sarevok but didn't have the patience to try and see him through the final battle :(

Woo, first post in SP ^^

Welcome to the board, Krentaris! I tried a half-elven F/M/C, they're great too!

But Dwarves will always be the best! :) :D

*takes a look at my elven thief* Is this too much for a non-warrior?

Sorry but I got a little too lazy to type my stats.

You don't get any bonuses for having a high constitution with a non-warrior class. A 16 is the same for a thief as an 18.

There's a DEX tome? I better play through BG1 again. Or did you forget elves can only get 17 CON and 19 DEX?

Yep, there's one of each. And there's also two or three WIS tomes, depending on whether you have TotSC or not. (And elves are my favorite race, so there's no way I'm ever going to forget that. :D )

The three wisdom tomes - one's in the catacombs under Candlekeep, one is in Durlag's Tower and one is in Baldur's Gate (the 'you're poisoned' quest with the Umberlee priestess).

Thank you kuemper! I better note the durlag's tower one and the baldur's gate one.
