    I know that Shura is already an expert swordsman in the beginning of the story, but I still think he is a bit too powerful in the beginning. By the ending of the story he is suitably powerful compared to the enemies, but the way he killed the thugs in the harbor in the beginning just seemed a bit too much.
    The characters were very interesting, but Katherine sometimes seemed a bit too much like an angry teen. Except for these things the story was far better than most fantasy novels i've read recently.

    If Shura can kick elven ass a couple of days later, he can take care of the thugs in the harbour too.
    What struck me was the intense hatred the author has for Ander. Nowhere have I seen a charecter who is a part of the protagonist's story being reviled so brutally. After all the story is not being told by Shura.
    Or is it?
