    To my horror, the frickin' disc is missing! Now I must go and replace it.

    (As an aside -- when I know where the song is, I usually just play the disc song by song until I get the right one -- was there something weird about this where they didn't list the title of the song?)

    No, the song is listed (Matilda Mother), but it's unlikely you'd get it by listening to the song, since Matilda Mother doesn't actually show up in the lyrics.

    Anywho, yours is Alan Parsons, but like most of his songs, I never know what it's called.

    Yup Alan Parsons Project.
    I just can't remember the album it's on. I Robot? Turn of a friendly card? And I miss these 2. It's on a compilation called Works, though.
    I do remember the name of the song. "Lets talk about me" (Some staccato there). Love this band. Been grown up with it and it always makes me think of my daddy :( and my brother.

    This is most likely the band's longest song. You won't hear it on the radio too often unless it's cut down to about 1/3 its actual time. Here at least.
    The band was formed in 1977 and had their first top 10 chart in the next year.

    Drat! Come on, guys. I'm not giving this one up that easily.
    According to the northern-english band's name, they are "in serious need of more money".
    Ask for an other hint if you must. I'm sure you know the band, some of you are quite fond of them, I read in some other posts.

    Dire Straits is correct, but the name of the song is not Industrial Disease. You're close, though. The correct song is on the same album.
