Cleared up my Act 1 quests and I'm now on L14, so a bit behind others - but starting to rock a bit more now.

I have taken an A2 Defensive Merc at present. Does this fit in with what everyone else is using or would a different Merc be more beneficial. Maybe a Combat (prayer) merc, to help regen life as we crush our enemies?

Who's the Spearazon? are you staying that or moving on upto a Javazon?

    [edit]
it must be Xei as Apeman is the bowazon right?

@Apeman: Can you max out the damage on FA, or is it more the duration? is it correct they've fixed the guided/pierce bug?

Pierce/guided is fixed. I'm a Spearazon, and staying that way. As long as we make sure we have one of each act 2 merc, no trouble.

@Xei: So which A2 merc will you be going for? or have you got already? Are you going with Fend? as with other tanks around the bug shouldn't be a problem. or with Lightning Strike?

So it seems that skeletons actually do something now. :shake: Okay, skeletons first, revives second.

@Bard: I can't recall which one I have, but it's not Combat (prayer). If we have the same, big deal, 'cause one of us could do the ol' switcheroo. And yes, Fend is the plan.

    @Wirhe: Told ya. Phooey.

    /me can't wait for tonight's session.

I'm more of a guided missile fan but since it doesn't pierce anymore I'll be maxing Strafe and the cold arrow tree with some passive skills on the side (penetrate and piercing)

One hour later would be perfect :thumb:

I can do bosses with charge up attacks - as long as there are a few distractions (hirelings) around and not too many creatures on screen (lag). Defense is useless, but attack is up there (I was hitting creatures in the monastery at level 3).

Wew...a lot happened in the down time of SP. I'll try to give a short summarize. When we left of Sunday we were halfway through act II before entering the palace. Monday (without me) we defeated Duriel and did the first quest of act III. Yesterday we powered through to meph and currently are residing in the small part of heaven in the middle of hell ;) .

Levels are devided between lv 24 (me) to 26-27 (bard and Xei) Things are coming along and today we should get to the big man himself.

One more level and I can dish out some serious damage myself and be an asset to the group. Al I need is a mana leech so I can use strafe fulltime.

BTW if we could do our session a bit earlier today we could get to Diablo before 19.30 GMT-0 and I can still see our national soccer team play their first qualifacation match. (no big deal if we do it on normal time but a bit earlier is my preference. If we go on at this rate we should have the big guy within 45 mins)

God, I've had withdrawal symptoms :)

Good couple of days playing. My barb is getting a bit more robust now. Learning to build him a bit more defensive and more life (380ish now). He is currently L27 and rocking.

Can't wait for NM mode when the game really take off.

Are we playing tonight? or is everyone watching World Cup Qualifiers? I know all the UK teams seem to be playing. What about the other non-important teams from Scandinavia and the like :D

Anyway, if we are playing confirm the time here, if not will be in the chatroom about 18:45.

I can, as almost always, be there at any time. While leveling up to 27 in Act 4, I got both waypoints, but did not do any quests, so we should be able to power through fast.

When we're almost done with Act 5 (should happen around Friday), would you guys rather do private baalruns with all the team, baalrun helped by my sorc, or just do public runs?

We will be there to get you through Meph, or anything you miss. This thing about powerplay, is getting to a point where you can survive. My char was dying 2-3 times a session, and as I am meant to be one of the Tanks, that is bad. Not in such a rush now, as I have pumped up life the last couple of levels which makes me far more robust, have also been boosting Battle Orders, which is a good team skill. So everything is being done for the benefit of the team.

Have a new char now a Javazon L6, so I can play this outside of our sessions. I need a break from BG at present as it was getting a bit tedious. Usually, I do SP or local MP, so this whole Battlenet has been a new experience. Great fun though.

I understand what you mean about public games, as I have done a couple with my char and there isn't the rapport with the other players that we have as a team. This is why me a Xei have carried on playing as it is more fun as a team (even if a small one).

Looking forward to tonights game. Is it 6-9 or 6-8?

What's tonights plan, is it to finish up A3 for those that haven't completed it and then
    move on to A4?

    Anyone heard from Tass?

Another suggestion, is that we all list the skills/trees we are specialising in, so as we progress we can keep an eye out for equipment for each other.

Turns out I can't make it this time again. I'm going to see the match with some friends and get a bite before it.

So don't mind me take any time you want, but don't got to far after diablo plz. Or if you can have a one day break (small chance right?) I'll have to gain up on you again. Can't wait until it's weekend and I can level up to catch up with you guys.

Private Bhaalruns are fine with me, playing alone won't be much of an experience fest by then anyway. But we can always do some with eachother for the ones who can't be online all day (everybody except Xei ;) )

    Cya thursday

@Apeman: you are goint to lose anyway aren't you - so why watch it :D

I went back last night and got the rest of the A3 waypoints, just for completeness. God, wasn't Great Marsh boring to get?

I need to get a better weapon and helm. So, where is the best place to do some item/gold runs without levelling much? Pits, Arcane or Sewers?

Meph would get me items (although not too good on Norm), but I think I would level too much.

Are Pits meant to be THE place for item runs in 1.10, or did I read that wrong?

To me, it seems like our little group is getting a bit apart, with Bard and Xei mainly powerplaying levels (and probably twinking too) while others are left out. Oh, well; I'll hang on as long as I can and when the difference becomes too big, quit for good. I simply do not see a reason to continue if this isn't about teamplay but regular, non-commentary powergaming (that is, frankly, what everyone does in Battle.net -single-player mode with lag :shake: ).

Unfortunately I think it will be quite soon, as I have a conference from Thursday to Sunday. I might make it Sunday, depending of when the train returns to Vaasa.

As to the time, I guess we could start an hour early, at 18.00, continue until 19.00, take a little break (about 30 mins to flex out and all that), then continue for another hour. This way Apeman might still have a chance to come and we can keep a bit longer session.

Hope everyone manages to read this...

@Wirhe: only battlenet char I have, so have spent this afternoon starting a new character to play outside of this group. Have not twinked yet. Problem solved hopefully :)

    @Wirhe

We started this as a team effort so if you say you will be away for a few days I think we can work something out. How about this: You play this night with the rest (I can't tonight so time is not an issue) and go as far as possible (Were only powerplaying now because we want to get to nightmare where the items and challange is bigger and more fun) We if we want can do some item runs from which we won't gain much experience and you will benefit from when you return.

I agree with you that the group should stick together. If Xei or anyone wants to powerplay they have other chars for that.

My proposition: powerplay untill Nightmare where the fun will begin, and if someone can't play for a few days the others will do item runs without much experience so the gap won't become big. It's not like it's a race, it's for fun and the team is fun.

my 2 cents on the future of SP_diablo

@Apeman: That's a shame... Hope you can make it later on in the evening. Oh, and I'm only online when I don't have school, basketball, or homework, though that IS most of the time ;)

@Wirhe: I twink everyone who wants too, as long as I can afford it. Apeman has gotten some nice stuff too, but you refuse :shake: . And Tassadar has not been around for a while.
Also, I feel the characters who are on the front, using weapons to kill and such, really sortof NEED items to survive. Your character could probably go through all the game without ever equipping an item, so don't feel outpowered. We won't go too far without most of the team.
Too bad you can't make it for a few days. And your suggestion for time should be a-ok.

Sounds good, and I will be sticking with you as far as I can, but I have no particular interest to battle my way through Mephisto alone. He has some 10k HP and the best I can offer against him is (*Snicker*) 2 teeth doing 4 damage each. :D

After that, I'm sure I can find someone from the net to boost me through the first quests in a buzz.

Yes, the boards are back! Have been having some real lag problems, to the extent that the game is near unplayable in multiplayer (screens not loading, not being able to hit anything, dying every 3 seconds, difficulty picking up items, etc, etc). It was barely ok playing with just Bard in Act II where we were getting all the waypoints, and Xei was off getting XP in Act III, but with everyone on screen plus Wirhe's skeleton legion (which is pretty cool BTW) the game crawls to a halt. So unless I get a computer upgrade and DSL, don't think I'll be able to continue. Plus I want to sleep. :)

Still it was great fun while it lasted. Keep kicking ass guys, I'll be following your (mis)adventures closely.

I'm sorry to see you go Tass. I understand not wanting to play with unbearable lag though.

Anyway, yesterday, we killed Diablo and did the first two quests of Act 5. I am now level 30, and kick real ass due to some twinking

How far should we go without Wirhe, if we play at all?
