junk = American english slang for heroine ( I used it here to imply a dependence upon being led by their clergy, preacher, evangelicalist, etc.)

revivals = I've been to few; generally their about mass hypnosis, giving a stirring show, and collecting as much free (un taxed) money as possible.

quaint new-found-land = [a play on words with Newfoundland Canada] meaning the settlers who ran from Europe for freedom really ran here (US) to impose their own theocracy. . .

Well, I think I understand what you mean now, I guess, and I would like to argue about some things, but I'd rather stick to the topic here.

Calling SpongeBob SquarPants a gay-promotor is not a smart thing. Burning witches is not a smart thing. Crusading to free the Holy City is not a smart thing. Selling slaves with the bible in the hand is not a smart thing.
But I see no wrong in a live with the church, reading your Bible every day, praying every day, listening to your reverend etc. That is the lifestyle of many religious people. And there's nothing wrong with it.

There are religious people who depend too much on their clergy etc and IMO that's not a good thing. My reverend teaches me things, but he can't order me to believe it. He's a teacher, not a master.

There's a lot more I could say, but I'm already off-topic.

Exactly, it's meant as entertainment. It's a shame that there has to be these accusations, when the same thing is overtly displayed on Prime time television and syndicated reruns without the same hellfire and Brimstone from the religeous right...

Ren and Stimpy had the occasional funny bit, but most of it didn't make sense when you were sober...

 

"Cow and Chicken" and "Spongebob Squarepants" are 2 of the funniest cartoons I've seen and I won't let people destroy the magic unless they come with a GOOD argument.

I personally don't watch Spongebob solely because his voice makes me want to drive big forks through my brain, but I think the show is otherwise funny. As to being gay, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I laugh. But seriously, don't you SEE what those E-VILLL liberals are doing to our children?? Teaching acceptance and tolerance?! GASP! How DARE they? Don't they understand that tolerance makes us weak and susceptible to Satan and terrorism and it will be the end of society as we know it? We'll have to start treating people who live different lives as equals. Nonononono. This is unacceptable. I say we go back to the old days and burn people at the stake again, only use people like Dobson as tinder. These people remind me of the guy that wrote the Cats are evil demon spawn thing that was the subject of another forum earlier this week or last. Anyway, I guess I will end up moving to New Zealand and just let this country burn. And good riddance, I say. $(*@#^& arch right wing ^&#$%*#S!
